We spent a wonderful weekend at Storii by ITC - The Kaba Retreat, and it was truly a magical experience. The property is breathtaking, with spacious rooms built on the slopes of a mountain, offering gorgeous views of the hills. The design blends beautifully with nature, and the variety of plants and trees on the grounds adds to its charm. The staff were incredibly thoughtful and made our stay memorable. Since we were traveling with our 6-month-old baby, they upgraded us to a premium room, which was a kind and much-appreciated gesture. Shivangi, the site executive, deserves a special mention. She went out of her way to ensure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. Her thoughtfulness shone through when she would hold our baby whenever my wife and I were about to eat, giving us a rare moment of peace – something we deeply appreciated as new parents. Rohit also impressed us with his helpfulness, suggesting fantastic places to visit nearby, which we enjoyed en route home. Overall, this retreat was exactly what we needed: a comfortable, picturesque escape with warm hospitality. I’d wholeheartedly recommend this place if you’re looking for a relaxing getaway, especially if you’re a new parent needing a break.

There are places, and then there is Kaba — a retreat that feels like home. Especially in the monsoons, when you float amidst the clouds, and every passing hour reveals a new face of the valley. It is a drama best witnessed from “Another Round,” the coffee shop, with a strong cortado in hand, gazing pointlessly yet endlessly at the Shivalik range as it unfolds its layers one after another. Afternoons drift into a quiet lunch, followed by a leisurely stroll on the pod hill, with the chatter of laughing thrushes and the calls of a wild rooster echoing in the air. Flowers burst in color — climbing mountain roses, stoic hydrangeas, lilies — all alive with bees and butterflies, making the gardens feel like a living paradise. As night falls, a clear sky reveals a million stars. The restaurant, “Another Round,” comes alive with modern jazz, while Chef Uttam prepares a sumptuous Italian feast — hand-rolled ravioli, wood-fired garden-fresh pizza with pesto, ending with the Storii Sundae, a medley of flavors. A night walk back, guided by the call of an unseen bird, completes yet another beautiful visit to Kaba. Here, the architecture is modern Nordic, the hospitality flows with Himachali warmth, and the ever-welcoming team — Shivangi, Rohit, Dyal, Dinesh, and Chaman the gardener — ensure that every need is met effortlessly. At Kaba, nature, comfort, and community converge. And each time, it feels like returning to heaven.

The property is beautifully maintained, offering breathtaking valley views, cozy rooms, and delicious cuisine that captures the local flavours. A special thank-you to Mr. Dinesh and Ms. Shivangi for going above and beyond—their genuine care made all the difference. Their promptness and cheerful demeanour ensured every request was met with a smile. Highly recommend ITC Storii, Solan for anyone looking for a relaxing escape with top-notch service. We can’t wait to return!

Disappointing and Unhygienic Experience at ITC Storii, Kasauli – Stay on 21st July 2025 We had booked two cottages at ITC Storii, Kasauli, for 21st and 22nd July, but had to check out within 24 hours due to the unacceptable hygiene standards and poor staff response. (Cottage 401 and 402) Upon check-in, we immediately noticed that one of the cottages had not been cleaned after the previous guest’s checkout. The toilet was filthy, the cottage had a musty, eggy smell, and the bed linen had visible hair on it. As a guest undergoing cancer treatment, cleanliness and sanitisation are critical—and what we encountered was completely unacceptable and deeply distressing. We informed the staff immediately. The cleaning staff arrived and also attempted to cover her nose while cleaning the cottage again. When we questioned the house keeping staff how could the toilet not be cleaned while handing over the room, the staff mentioned that sometimes in hurry this gets missed. Unbelievable!! We insisted that the front desk team should ask housekeeping head or a supervisor to speak to us and address the serious lapse in cleanliness. However, no one visited as we waited the whole day. The staff chose to place a candle and some flowers on our dinner table—a gesture that was tone-deaf and failed to deal with the core issue. The staff seemed untrained, passive, and unresponsive. There was no apology, no accountability, and no basic understanding of hospitality standards expected from a property under the ITC umbrella. The next morning, we decided to check out early, cutting short what was meant to be a relaxing two-night stay. Shockingly, we were still charged in full, including for the unclean, unprepared room. To make matters worse, the front office staff did not even acknowledge our departure. No one came to assist with checkout, express regret, or see us off. They simply sat at the desk, waiting for us to leave. Other than this, the common area connecting the two cottages was leaking water when it was raining through the night , the kettle was filthy and covered with dust. This experience was not only disappointing but also distressing. ITC Storii, Kasauli, failed to meet even basic standards of hygiene, service, and guest care. I sincerely hope this feedback prompts immediate attention and corrective action—for the sake of future guests, and especially those with health sensitivities.
