Rustic accommodation, fantastic food. Well worth a stay. We’re a group of about 25 couples traveling on a long weekend in south-western Norway. If you manage to find your way here over the mountains and narrow roads, you’ll be very pleased with the friendliness and compassion of the people running the place. Stay in one of the 200 years old houses and enjoy the history of the place.

Big rooms in «Kommune huset» layd out like in the old days. In my room there was a fridge and cooking top too. Bed was good to sleep in. Room has its own toilet and shower. Food was fantastic and i loved listening to the stories when we were in the prison/jail which is now a bar. Im glad i have experienced this place. Its like a little comunity And if you fancy you can play the piano whilst on the toilet 😅 (located in the dining houses) The hotell is based in houses so one house you have food, and you have rooms in the other houses all with their own history

I arrived in the early hours and was met by the proprietor who was cheerful and welcoming. This is a unique hotel formed from old houses in a street that have been lovingly restored and seamlessly match the charm of gentler times with the standards for 21st century customers. The staff were all most friendly welcoming and justifiably very proud of their hotel. I would recommend this hotel to any one visiting Norway. It is worth altering your schedule to go there.
