Thal Sewana Home Stay

Vasanthy was a wonderful host. The guest house is situated perfectly in the middle of Sigiriya and Pidurangala Rock so such a great location to stay if you want to see both places and enjoy the views. Breakfast was cooked every morning but what made this memorable was how attentive Vasanthy was to both of us. As my wife was pregnant and even though it was a 10min walk to the rock, she called us a tuk tuk early in the morning so we would stumble across any elephants. Thanks for looking after us

My experience at Thal Sewana Hotel was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we arrived, my girlfriend and I were welcomed with a warmth and hospitality that could only come from its owner, who is undoubtedly one of the kindest and sweetest people we’ve ever met. The hotel is the perfect place to disconnect from the technological world and reconnect with nature. Surrounded by tranquility, this little paradise has all the necessary amenities to relax and enjoy the beauty of Sigiriya. Every detail of the place is designed to provide a unique experience, and waking up every morning to a stunning view of Pidurangala Mountain while having breakfast is simply priceless. I especially want to thank the owner for her attention and care in preparing my meals, knowing that I am allergic to sesame. Her thoughtfulness and effort to ensure I could eat safely is something I deeply appreciate. That level of detail and kindness made our stay even more special. I 100% recommend this hotel if you visit Sigiriya. Thank you, Thal Sewana, for an unforgettable experience. I look forward to returning soon!

I'm speechless by now. The best experience i have ever had. Not only the place which has been absolutely fantastic and cosy in the middle of the jungle with a lot going on 2 mins to Pidurangala and 10 mins to Sigiriya. But this absolutely AN AMAZING, KIND, CONSIDERATE AND on the top of all that the best chef in whole country. Host was the best!!!! I know a lot of people write here friendly and kind but it is beyond that. She was even worried for me how u get around and was coming up with the solutions, was checking on me and making sure i do not overpay around!!!! Who does that!!!! She was making absolutely Delicious Food. I'm moving around country now and the only thought i have ...... i want to go back to her place and eat her delicious 😋 food. And hear her giving the best suggestions. 👌 I'm definitely coming back to her place. The best experience and a highlight for me!!! Thank you so much my Dear!!!!

Amazing place with an amazing host. Wasanthi immediately makes you feel at home. Very friendly atmosphere, great food and minutes walking distance to Lion’s Rock. The rooms are very clean and affordable, air con and good shower. Perfect place to stay if you are visiting Sigiriya. Thank you so much Wasanthi. I wish we had more time to stay longer.

What a helpfull and sweet family. So gratefull to have met them. We had An amazing Sri Lankan style breakfast after walking Pidurangala rock in the morning, which almost cannot be any closer than this homestay. We could even drive with him to Dambulla next day, which was great. I definitly recommend everybody going to this adres if want to see of visit Lions Rock in Sigiriya

We had an absolutely unforgettable stay at Thal Sewana Homestay - surely one of our most beautiful experiences, a human one above all. This charming guest house is managed by a lovely mother and her son. Two extraordinary people of an incomparable kindness and goodwill who made our stay a wonderful moment. We felt like at home! They have always lived there, so they will be of very good advice to help you visit the area in the best possible way! The house has 4 rooms, ideal to be in a quiet environment. The location is also ideal, located just between Lion's Rock (15 min walk from the entrance) and Pidurangala Rock (5 min walk from the entrance). 2 bonus points, they are divine cooks and the room is super affordable! If we have could, we would have put a grade of 10/5 - we will miss them so much! If you ever have the chance to visit Sigiriya, do not hesitate one second, you will never find better!!!
