카사 룩셈부르그(Hotel Casa Luxemburg- Newly Renovated)

This was our second visit to Sibiu and this hotel which remains our firm favourite. Classic Old World style hotel rooms set in a beautiful building and no compromise on comfort. Super breakfast and cannot be beaten on location with some lovely bars and restaurants nearby.

We wanted to stay at Casa Luxemburg, but the hotel was full, so they asked if we wanted to stay at their sister property instead, called Filek House. So we stayed at Filek House for 3 nights while visiting Sibiu. Our rate included breakfast at Casa Luxemburg. I booked by calling Casa Luxemburg and then communicating via email. The staff were very responsive and I was impressed by how quickly they would reply. I had several questions about the rooms and I asked for suggestions for the area and they were so helpful and got back to me quickly with each question. Filek House is located at the corner of the large square. The location is phenomenal as it’s right on the large square. Filek House consists of four apartments- G1, G2, G3, and G4. Please note that at this time, G4 is not labeled, so it was hard at first to find it. We stayed in G4 which had 1 bed and 1 sofa that can lay out to be about a twin sized bed. I mistakenly thought this would be sofa bed, so make sure you know it’s not quite as large as a sofa bed. My 2 children shared this sofa, and though they complained at first, it turned out to be fine. G4 is quite large- it includes a bathroom with a shower (no tub) and looks like it was recently renovated. I loved the bathroom mirror and the towel rack. It has that half shower door which I find odd since water inevitably splashes out, but it seems to be a hotel trend these days. There is also a kitchenette with a Nespresso machine, hot water kettle, kitchen sink, tiny dishwasher, a kitchen table with 2 chairs, and one window. The main room is quite large with the bed, desk, a wardrobe and 2 windows. The sofa bed is in a small room at the end, and has a window. The doors and windows are all double paned which is a great feature. We would walk to Casa Luxemburg each morning for breakfast which was from 8:00-10:00 AM. The breakfast was a little underwhelming but was fine. It included some meats, cheeses, vegetables, bread, jam, and the kitchen would cook plain egg omelette or plain fried eggs for each guest if they want it. I wish there would have been homemade jams, fresh red peppers, and some more locally produced or homemade items. I also wish they had a non-dairy milk option. The breakfast room looks out onto the little square which is very nice. For parking, we just found parking and paid the daily rate. I cannot speak to the rooms at Casa Luxemburg, but as for Filek House, I would highly recommend it for a family of 3 or a couple. For a family of 4, Filek House might not be the best fit unless your children are young.

The best location to stay in Sibiu. It's central, has great views, has very comfortable beds, wifi, a Bluetooth speaker, and all the usual amenities. Parking is just one minute down the road, the fee for which is only €2.00 per 24 hours. We didn't have breakfast there, so cannot comment. The receptionists were very helpful and supplied us with a plug adaptor as ours was of a slightly wider bore than what is used there. The only con is that there is no lift, so you need to lug your luggage 3 floors (in our case). We visited in May, so not busy during this period. Perfect period though for us. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately we only stayed one night, wish we had found Casa Luxembourg about a month ago when we were making reservations. Your hotel never came up on the search engine for some unknown reason. The 3 women in the reception area were so pleasant, so helpful and so incredibly welcoming that we plan to use Casa Luxembourg as our go- to hotel going forward. The hotel was spotlessly clean and in the best part of town. Thank you to all the lovely women at CL.

The hotel was ideally located right in the heart of Sibiu. The whole hotel was very clean throughout the public areas and rooms. Our room was very modern, well equipped and excellent value for money. The only minor criticism would be the reception wasn’t manned when we arrived and the tour guide had to telephone for assistance to let us in, this maybe a weekend only or out of season issue, also the adjoining restaurant is closed for breakfast on a sunday so they have an agreement with a restaurant around the corner which offers breakfast on their behalf. We would definitely stay here again.

Casa Luxemburg is an excellent choice if you are looking for a boutique-style hotel right in the middle of charming historic Sibiu. We had a large room with a view of the Cathedral of St Mary which was delightful. We particularly liked the furniture in the room, the chair and sofa were comfortable and stylish. Staff were very helpful in advance of our stay. During our stay they could have provided better customer service with more information about local taxi services, and the reception opening hours were limited. Nevertheless we would certainly recommend Casa Luxemburg to anyone visiting Sibiu.

Beautifully restored inn in lovely Sibiu. Has retained the original features but has been luxuriously comfortable inside, very large rooms despite the appearance from the outside. Superbly cooked breakfast. Ramona was a star handling everything.

I stayed for 2 nights, and wished I could have stayed longer. A friendly greeting at reception, and the room was more of a suite than a room. A large modern bedroom and very comfortable bed. 2 living rooms and a large bathroom. All recently decorated and very nice. There was a/c, fridge, 3 flat screen TVs, safe, tea and coffee making facilities. It was amazing, and all in a beautiful palace in the square, perfectly located for everything in lovely Sibiu. There was also a restaurant and bar attached to the hotel, but also a large range of restaurants nearby. All at a very good price. A beautiful hotel. Definitely recommended.

This small hotel has an excellent location in the old town of Sibiu. The hotel does not have an elevator and the rooms have very old and used furniture. There is a small outside corridor with a very good view of the old city. Breakfast is served at the restaurant next door and only starts at 9 AM, which makes it unfeasible for tourists traveling in the morning.
