Pinewood Hotel

This is a heritage hotel established by the British. The building has been reconstructed now keeping the NE style of architecture. The rooms and cottages are designed with good amenities. Staff is courteous and cleanliness is maintained. The lawns around the property are beautiful and the location ( near the Ward's Lake) is excellent. Over-all a good choice in Shillong. One cons is the food. Breakfast was very basic and lacked taste.

Just opp the lake and close to the city centre i.e. Police bazaar. Close to Raj bhavan and the govt offices. Food is good but the rooms are heritage ones. Hotel built in 1898. Though it is a Govt run hotel the service is good enough. The location makes up for everything. Choose a room with a good view.

An old world charm with lovely staff, a land mark hotel of the region which needs immediate attention to regain charm and lost glory Had stopped over at the hotel while planning my next travel and found this gem .

Well maintained big property in heart of Shillong. Heritage property, near Wards Lake. Staff was very cordial and helpful. Room was big, neat and clean, though design/interior of room was not very good. It looks like a cardboard box.

The property was very good.a delight for family travelers.only bcoz we traveled with our 75 + old mother,it was slightly difficult going from our room to the dining hall every time as it was incessantly raining and the roadway leading to the dining hall is uncovered (major part). Staff was very nice and prompt. Typical sarkari type but really no complains. Food was reasonably priced and really well made. There was a regular heater and comfy heater in each room. It was definitely a good stay in the property and worth visiting again except that the furniture were coming through. The almirah door would not close.if u put key inside locker,almirah couldn’t be shut. Seems like a minor thing here but it was a irritating one when we stayed.
