Booked at 7pm table at The Coachman at Snainton whilst on our hols n thought it’d be a nice way to finish a great week. Wrong!! Beautiful building but when taken into the restaurant we found ourselves in a ‘big light on’, soulless room with Peter Andre’s Mysterious Girl blaring out. Nothing against Peter Andre but it is 2022, not the best background music tbh! Really dull menu, everything that came was really greasy and the chips were mahogany. Even the garden peas were served in chipped ramekins. I just wanted to pay n get out of there as soon as poss. Don’t do it, turn around and go to The Anvil at Sawdon, a couple of miles in the opposite direction, another league. Big tip for the Coachman, if you cut down on the lighting wattage (about 2000 watts in one room) you could afford tables that don’t wobble! Can’t believe the reviews I read prior to going were anywhere near accurate.

Excellent olde world pub. A warm welcome awaited us today . We had a fantastic meal once again. Erkan and his staff make a good job of looking after you. The food is to die for. The pub has such character. We live over 100 miles for this pub but always call in when we are in the area. Keep up the good work Coachman team 🍽

We arrived with family and ordered food. The meal was delivered with burnt chips on every plate. These were promptly sent back and after a few minutes more arrived less burnt but very greasy. The oap fish my husband ordered was only just bigger than a fush finger and again very overcooked. The gammon was very fatty . Overall presentation very poor. Its a shame as staff are lovely and we have had good meals there in past
