Excellent in every way. Service, food, rooms, spa, children's activities and options. Very convenient for skiing as close to the u bahn. Staff are very attentive and hospitable. Special shout out to Tomas Szalbo, Peter Szalbo, Stefan who took care of us this time - could not ask for more!

My family is staying here on 11 -18 Feb 2024 for our Ski holiday. First of all, the hotel and room looks nice. We like the room so much. Back to reality: To go skiing, we have to take the subway and carry ski by ourselves. I asked myself a question…is it a five star service? To be honest, we have been staying in many five star hotels. It is the first hotel that provides no services on this regard. The other 5 star will bring you to the slope or at least to the Tal station. Also, the ski locker cannot be locked. Hmm, don’t ask me why. You should not have any extra request from this hotel. They are not flexible to fulfill your request. Otherwise they will scare you. For example, my kids would like to see more options of DVD to select, the receptionist said to me: “We are not a DVD shop.” I got shocked when I heard this. Sorry to interrupt you with our problem! To conclude, so far I think it is a 5 star for the price, but the service mindset of some staff needs to be improved a lot. I don’t agree that it is 5 star or even 5 star plus. In light of the above experience, I don’t think I can recommend this hotel.

We stayed in Schalber for 10 days during the Chris**as holidays. The food is amazing, the spa has everything what you can think of. There is a wide inside kids area with a lot of activities. The location is perfect - 20 m from the underground. The service is on a very high level. We were very lucky that we were served by Peter in the restaurant. Happy to come again in the summer.

What an amazing level of service, on the same level with the most luxurious 5* service. Nothing was too much trouble and everything request was possible - prompt, courteous and caring service, amazing food, extremely friendly staff, attention to detail for children (not to mention a huge play area and fun swimming pool), fantastic wellness area, and the owner himself greeting us every evening and upon departure. What more is there to wish for from a family ski hotel? Perfect. Look forward to staying again next year.

I, my wife and our 7 years old daughter stayed in this hotel for 11 days at the end of August 2021. We stayed in a family superior suite, large enough but with only one toilet. The room and the public areas were very clean and well maintained. The breakfast and lunch gave us more of a "canteen" feeling rather than a high standard 5*S cuisine. The dinners were better presented but not very tasty. I may say, good wine (we tested only some kinds of rose), but very expensive compared with other 5 stars resorts in Tyrol. Very good service of the personnel and especially waiters who were very friendly, well trained and very good English speakers (special mention to Sandra and Thomas). Very good and interesting childcare at kids club. Also interesting outside activities with Pavol who also is dedicated for this job. In the evening no activities for kids (disco, playing games, shows…) so the majority of kids are running between tables or sleeping in the restaurant or small bar. The indoor sport activities, very early in the morning or during lunch. Not enough activities for adults in the evening, just live music sometimes. The service of the reception was very good. Overall, with some points to be improved (evening activities and entertainment, schedule of the sports activities, the restaurant menu), we keep nice memories about this hotel, being a nice, quiet and kids very friendly place.

Schalber is classed as a luxury wellness hotel. In some parts they deliver on this, in other parts they don't. The good parts: - Service is great/excellent. Very attentive and happy to assist with pretty much anything. - Room size and great views if you are facing the mountains. - Good food, also have gluten-free options. - Kids fun area was able to entertain my children (aged 9 and 10) The not so good parts: - Several times housekeeping came into the room without knocking or when the do not disturb sign is on the door. - Cleanliness. Not everything is kept very clean and I didn't see the heavy-traffic areas (lifts, staircases, etc) being frequently cleaned. - No mask for staff. Probably not required but would have given extra reassurance to guests. - Swimming pools. Although there are many of them, they are spread all over and all are pretty small in size. The main family pool is actually quite small. - Lunch buffet is limited. If you order a la carte it means paying extra and not included in boarding. The hotel building is quite old, which is charming but also shows its age.

Wir hatten erst überlegt, ob wir wieder in ein Familienhotel gehen. Jedoch haben wir uns für das Schalber entschieden und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Das Hotel bietet wirklich viel für Kinder. Klettermöglichkeiten, Juniorraum, eine ausgezeichnete Kinderbetreuung. Weiterhin ein richtig schönen und großen Wellnessbereich. Das Abendessen ist aber ein Highlight. Es gab jeden Abend ein 5 Gang Menü, welches wir genossen haben. Die Betreuung im Kinderbereich war ausgezeichnet. So viel Liebe und Engagement hat man selten. Ein Familiengeführtes Hotel mit viel Herz und Professionalität. Die Lage ist natürlich auch perfekt. Direkt mit der U-Bahn zur Seilbahn.
