Africa Safari Serengeti Ikoma

I had the most epic vacation at the Africa Serengeti Ikoma, and would a 100% recommend it to anyone wanting to experience the ultimate peace; enjoy fresh air; see tons of animals — also at your doorstep. The staff at the lodge is second to none — super helpful, kind, caring, genuinely interested, very helpful, and to top it all off — our driver, Mr. Godlisten was an absolute gem. He picked us up from the airport, spent the entire week driving us around and showing us all the animals — from cheetah family to more than 20+ lions across 3 game drives to many many more wildlife encounters. I’m so thankful and can’t praise Godlisten highly enough for his driving skills, his kindness, and all the interesting stories he shared. A couple of key tips: bring cash and don’t rely on credit card machines (there’s no connection in the bush); go during the ‘wet’ season in March — you’re guaranteed to see so many more animals, and waaaay less crowds; stay at least 5-6 nights and take 3 game drive trips during your stay. PS! There’s also a tiny souvenir shop at the lodge.

If you're looking for a comfortable, convenient stay during your Serengeti, Ikoma's lodge and under canvas tents was wonderful. The staff is helpful, friendly, and excited to see you. They are warm and make the experience so enjoyable. The food has been tasty and hearty. We had a nice beer and wine selection considering the location. The tents are comfortable, and I left feeling refreshed and recharged. Pro tip: wake up right at sunrise, take a stroll around the property and you may get lucky and see animals very close. Three giraffes were eating right outside of our tent!

We had an amazing time at the Ikoma lodge. The rooms are very cozy and the atmosphere great, with wildlife litterary around the camp. They said last night, three lions came to drink from the pool (!). You only get the upside from this, as we always felt very safe being escorted back to our rooms at dark. Food is also really great, with an impressive three course a la carte and best breakfast we had in Tanzania. What is most impressive is the staff, who are very attentive and nice - they accomodated for our very early breakfast at 6am and they even remember your name :-) Would’ve loved to spend another few nights. Highly recommend!

We loved our stay at the Serengeti Ikoma. The site is just amazing, you get the best of the African camping experience with the best comfort. The staff was so friendly. The tents are done with all the convenience you expect from a room, running water, shower, safe, electricity, net around your bed to keep you safe from the mosquitos. We be also enjoyed great service (thank you Neema) and food. It served in a buffet format, you get rice, chicken, beef, fish. We would return.

We came here for our honeymoon as part of a wider package and it was brilliant. We were treated so well and enjoyed every minute of our stay. Staff were so friendly and made sure that we had everything we needed to feel comfortable. I would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a safari experience that you won’t forget. Highly recommended.

This is the whole resort experience, from wet towels and juice on arrival to full 3-course dinner and expansive self-serve breakfast plus made to order eggs and bacon/sausage. They insisted on "security" with a flashlight escorting guests around the property after dark due to possible animal encounters. The pool is chilly and perfect for post-safari. The rooms are very comfortable, but don't forget to turn the water heater on! We even saw giraffes about 50 meters from us as we enjoyed a cocktail on our tent's patio and the sunrise view was stunning. What made the stay was the staff, all so friendly and helpful.
