I spent a week here with my mother - she went to college in the area and was able to enjoy a Hanok experience in Seoul for the first time. The location is great for exploring, it’s close to big tourist attractions like the palace and various museums, but also restaurants and cafes loved by locals. The Hanok is a perfect medium between modern and traditional - the rooms are heated by ondol and equipped with an AC in each room. Sleeping on the floor on a mat was actually more comfortable than the bed I expected. If you’re worried about sleeping on the floor, don’t be - it was so cozy that I had trouble getting out of bed in the mornings to go explore the city. I enjoyed drinking espresso and eating toast while looking toward the courtyard of the Hanok. The kitchen is equipped with thoughtful touches, like traditional crackers and jeju green tea to enjoy. The host also had awesome recommendations for authentic local food, if you have time, I’d go ahead and try all of them.
