70 헥타르 .. L'Océan

This is my happy place! We were delighted to find this beautiful little gem nestled by the expansive Landes forest. Checking in, we arrived in our room to find a little plate of welcoming treats -- delicious! Surrounded by trees, the hotel feels peaceful intimate, and very special. It is beautifully designed (lots of deco inspiration I have brought home!) and was spotlessly clean -- it even smelt good! All of the staff were super smiley and helpful. The breakfast, and restaurant, were excellent. This was our first experience of the Fontinelle hotel group, and it certainly won't be the last. We will definitely return to 70 Hectares -- especially as my husband is keen to play the adjacent golf course. Thanks to everyone there who gave us a wonderful stay!

70 Hectares is a world class boutique resort in the beautiful surf and turf (golf) area of Seignosse. The beach still has an untouched natural feel even with its “cabanes” (surf bars and grills) The hotel is well run from its young, attractive, well trained staff that always serves up delicious wines from their vineyards and culinary delights with a smile. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable with all the modern trappings; ie Nespresso machines and solid WiFi which are a must nowadays. My only suggestion, which I know is uncommon in France, would be to add coffee mate creamers for those of us who prefer café crème in the morning. The breakfast buffet was varied and delicious although the scrambled eggs weren’t warm enough and the bacon wasn’t cooked enough. The free flowing cappuccinos and fresh croissants with locally sourced jams made me forget though. The pool-side rosé and salads were crisp and delicious. Oh yeah and the pool itself was beautiful with confortable loungers. The duck magret and burrata at dinner were top notch. The two slow charge parking spots and two high speed spots (also a must these days) were much appreciated. Although I suggest they improve marking or signage in their parking lot, because twice in four nights, some not so environmentally conscious golfers took the spots despite small signs telling them they are reserved for hotel guests with EV’s. They don’t gouge you on their own wines and have reasonable market prices on everything else, well almost everything, their own olive oil which they sell is very good but a little steep at 34€ a 500ml bottle. My bad for not checking before buying though. The golf course looked beautiful but at a 100€ pp plus rentals and carts was a little much for us golfers who travel with our clubs when we really want to play. We may return with our clubs and sans kids someday ;-). Thank you for a lovely vacation, from our vacation in France.

What I mostly loved was the great outdoor spaces and the overall style of the hotel. Stylish and relaxed at the same time. We had a great weekend. Kid friendly as well, my children loved the swimming pool, played table tennis, pétanque and they had fun.

The rooms were really nicely done and felt bread new. Large comfortable bed, very cool shower room, nice furniture. Balcony was nice, but above some part of the kitchen, so we did get a beeping delivery lorry wake up at 7.30 every morning. But overall happy with both rooms we had. Pool is small, but pleasant - More of a place to bob around and cool-off, than actually swim. Some games (table football, table tennis etc) available around the hotel. However, we thought service wasn't the best. My impression was the restaurant staff were trying to give us a wide berth as our French is poor and only the restaurant manager seemed to speak English - nothing untoward, just the (inexperienced) staff, were I think, hoping one of their colleagues would step in, but they didn't. Breakfast buffet was good, lots of choice and all high quality (though no full english! :-) ). Evening meals were slow, pretty unremarkable and expensive. I'd say what I had, but i can't remember it. Laundry took a long time to come back (wouldn't have bothered if I'd known) and was extremely expensive. Thoroughly recommend hiring an electric bike from there (at reception) - Loads of places to go and lots of cycle lanes etc.

Hôtel et lieu incroyables ! Se reveiller au milieu des pins, déguster un superbe petit déjeuner puis plonger dans la magnifique piscine… que demander de mieux ? En plus du cadre magnifique, le personnel est adorable et plein d’attentions. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir !

Nous avons passé un séjour formidable dans ce lieu magique et très bien entretenu entouré d’un personnel très souriant. Merci !
