Villa Valdepian Apartments

Villa Valdepian enters the 2022 season with a young management team and chef Marko Gorela in the restaurant Anna’s garden. You can enjoy a romantic dinner with a view to the sea, and wake up in a roomy apartment accompanied with a fresh delicacy breakfast. Must visit location when in Savudrija.

Villa Valdepian is located on the beach with view to the sea from most of its apartments. It has an airconditioned restaurant with terasse just on the beach with smiling, helpful staff. and good food. The beach is rocky but with bit of sandy part, too. A 25m long concrete path leads into the water and I very much liked the stairs and handrail, which allowed elderly people to safely enter the water. We booked one of the 2 apartments with French balcony (both facing the sea), which on one hand provided a beautiful view to the sea but also a noisy restaurant terasse during evenings. Not recommended if you visit with small kids or you need quiet place to sleep. The Villa looks good from outside but I think it could be better inside, too than it actually is. There've been few annoyances in the apartment: there was a storm on our first night from the sea, and the wind flung the window grates wide open and we could not close them but find a heavy object to keep it tight (the window/dor had a key but the lock was broken so we could not lock it). The small refrigerator had a problem too. For some reason it was rather heating on the bottom right corner than freezing. And then I think the kitchen could have been better equipped... (in addition dishes were dirty in the cupboard, we had to wash them all). Note: rooms are not air conditioned. Actually this is a pro for us since we hate air conditioning but I know that some cannot live without AC through hot summer. Overall, we spent an excellent week there and putting all together: location, price, service I can warmly recommend this place.

Schon seit vielen Jahren kommen wir immer wieder an diesen ziemlich einzigartigen Platz mit seiner langen, traditionsreichen Geschichte, aber so schön wie heuer war es noch nie. Das verdankt dieses Haus vor allem dem neuen Betreiberteam, die mit viel Einsatz und Hingabe den alten Mauern neues Leben einhauchen. Vor allem zu erwähnen ist hier das neue unglaublich gute Restaurant, das sicherlich die beste istrische Küche in 20 km Umkreis bietet, mit allem, was das Meer und umliegende Land an Essen und Trinken bietet. Dasselbe kann man über das Team sagen, von Küche bis Service, die mit Professionalität, Herz und Einsatz uns Gäste verwöhnte. Danke Euch allen! An den Zimmern hatten die vorherigen Betreiber 25 Jahre nichts gemacht und auch das neue Team hatte glaubhaft noch nicht die Ressourcen, hier entscheidende neue IMpulse zu setzen. Aber die wunderschöne Lage, die unglaubliche Küche und das Engagement der neuen Betreiber machen es leicht, über fehlende Klimaanlagen usw. hinweg zu sehen.
