It was a fabulous hotel and town to stay in overnight. Staff, Services and breakfast were outstanding. The room and beds were so comfortable! Bedding & bathroom amenities were of the highest quality. Could not fault our stay in anyway. Quality! Oh and the parking of our van in the hotel garage was easy! Will definitely stay again when going to Girona and back to London, quite regularly.

Booking on a web site and arriving at around 10pm, we received a lack of good service from the front office. We paid for a regular room for 3 people. They gave us a room with 2 beds and a sofa bed that didn’t have sheets, only a stained cover mattress, a set of towels ready and a comforter. We used the room phone to call the front office, few minutes later a lady gave us the sheets. The room didn’t have a coffee pot nor kettle. The tv wasn’t properly working either, we finally got a couple of channels to work. As a parador hotel I expected more. I guess they don’t welcome surprising guests after 10pm.

Great hotel . Lovely historic interior. Great breakfast buffet. Service is bar is very slow. The bar is understaffed. The room was too hot (heat was on, AC did not work)

The Pilgrims' Hospital in Santo Domingo de la Calzada is historically, the building occupies a former hospital dating back to the 12th century. Santo Domingo built this center on a vast plain on the banks of the Oja River next to the city's cathedral to provide shelter for pilgrims traveling the Camino de Santiago. Originally, the purpose of the building was to accommodate pilgrims, but today it operates as a tourist inn. It is located in the town's Plaza Santo, and despite being a building with more than six centuries of history, it features luxurious halls and a lobby filled with well-preserved Gothic arches and wooden coffered ceilings. This is one of the historical locations in town that you can see.

Very welcoming and friendly staff at check in. Beautiful foyer and this continues throughout. Our room was very tastefully designed, everything about it was well conceived. A very comfortable stay in the centre of town. Breakfast was AMAZING, the staff there were superb and even when coming and going the lady sweeping the foyer floor was so nice and friendly. She said she doesn’t speak English BUT she has great English which really helped us, but her approach added to a terrific stay.

We were booked in here as part of our Camino Trail of 42 days and this one was definitely a standout. A beautiful building that has been restored with such attention to detail. It’s beautiful to walk around the hall ways, everything is beautiful. The room was so clean with the highest thread count I’ve ever had on a bed, and was so quiet and perfect. The breakfast was delicious and loved our stay here. Would highly recommend.

Wonderful place to stay. Would give it 5 stars but for the ridiculous and incomprehensibe bill that not even other Parador staff could comùprehend. Sadly left a sour taste at the end.
