Colonna Grand Hotel Capo Testa, a Colonna Luxury Beach Hotel, Santa Teresa Sardegna

This was the second hotel my husband and I stayed at in Northern Sardinia for our honeymoon. For the most part we had a great stay, but overall we agreed this shouldn't really be rated five star, although we're aware it's probably the most luxury in the area. Firstly, even though we visited at a quieter time of the season, there were still problems securing a parking space – management were very kind and allowed us to park over other cars and hand the keys to them in case they needed to move them, but surely in busier periods this could be very difficult and more parking spaces are definitely required. We would also have liked to have been informed that the spa was closed towards the end of our stay – we wanted to book treatments at the end of our honeymoon and were told the spa was closed, but we had no prior information about that. More exciting options are needed at breakfast although the staff were lovely. We wanted to eat at the hotel for one night after being encouraged by one of the waiters who came to our room with complimentary sparkling wine, however when we phoned reception we were told that dinner slots are reserved for half board options (we were bed and breakfast so fair enough) and that we couldn't get a table until around 9pm, which was slightly disappointing for us. However, we had a car and ate in Santa Teresa most nights where there were more options (and more reasonably priced). The infinity pools at this hotel are stunning and the view of the sea is really gorgeous, however you can barely swim in the pools as they are waist-deep at best which seems a little ridiculous. The rooms were lovely but the bed was very hard and not the best night's sleep. But cleanliness-wise, we couldn't fault it. Housekeeping were amazing and deserve all the thanks. The big positive here and the selling point is definitely the views the hotel offers. The beach is unreal, you can wade out very far and it's still not deep so good for children or people like myself who don't like not touching the floor in the sea. The water is so calm and blue. Hotel guests are also offered loungers on a private area of the beach free of charge which is great. Overall this hotel is a mixed bag – as I said it's probably the most luxury in the area because Capo Testa isn't huge, but it could do with its facilities updating slightly to give it more of a five star feel.

Lovely clean hotel, friendly staff and great location for the beach. Super quiet. Tiny things would have made it perfect - free coffee in the rooms and the shuttle bus could have run later in the evenings. Great breakfast but meals and pool bar were expensive. Not much around the hotel in the evenings. We walked from the neighbouring town one evening in the dark - Not recommended, No footpaths very bendy roads and very dark- pack your hi viz!

The situation of the hotel is superb, as is the pool complex. Access to the lovely beaches is good, and the staff are charming. However, in our opinion, the hotel does not warrant a 5 star rating. Be aware that the adjacent beach restaurant is noisy and off putting if you want a peaceful relaxing holiday.

Beautiful location, 5 stars when it comes to service, cleanliness, staff etc. Only little disappointing was that we had to wait for over 4 hours for our room (after a night trip of 12 hours). Don’t forget to bring your wallet, bit pricy😎.

The hotel is very beautiful in general and we had a very pleasant stay during our stay. However, I believe that a five-star hotel should also have an indoor pool. The service was very good, everyone was very polite and friendly.

The worst hotel ever, very old and with a bad smell of mold. The hotel is full of mold and humming. We want to leave the hotel and get our money back for the accommodation, because our vacation is ruined because of the dampness and mold in the hotel. Everything bad.

Hey all, Some things you mention over the hotel itself are correct, however I have to give 5 points just due to the fact that the service, food and hosts should receive 7 points. The room itself as well as the pool (and weather, which is NOT part of my ratings) would get a little less. The receptionist Viviana was just a lovely person and brought daily a smile in our little families faces as well as in our daughters. The waitress Sarah was perfect during breakfast and Diner. One special thank to another waiter with a lot of experience ( I do not remember the name) who took care of all my allergies. I got daily my own cooked food. Dairy and gluten-free. The room itself were small and maybe a year to old but it has a lot of charm. The room and the hotel was absolutely cleaned in a perfect manner So all in all the hote

The air conditioning system is older and the thermostat in the room does nothing. We were there during a hot night and had to request a fan. The restaurant is not good at all. They run out of food several times during breakfast and getting a coffee is a chore. You can read other reviews about the dinner service being rude. Definitely not 5 star, OK, but they should adjust their prices.

The hotel is very weel located, in front of a private beach, which was cleaned everyday. There was a restaurant next to the hotel, at the beach, where the food and ambiance was also very pleasant. Staff very polite and wlecoming.
