I have had the pleasure of an extended stay, 19days at Hotel Villa Sirio It was a sudden and unexpected visit to Santa Maria Di Castellabate due to me breaking my ankle 5 days into my trip in Scala above Ravello. It’s a family run hotel with the wonderful Andrea ,hotel manager and his lovely wife Alessandra hosting the breakfast and Gemma their gorgeous 9yr daughter who helped out where she was needed. I was impressed with my morning cappuccino she made. Both speak excellent English. Nothing was too much trouble for them and my request and thanks for their help was always returned with it’s our pleasure. The hotel itself is beautiful. Situated on the waterfront with a lovely promenade that is busy with people of all ages walking dogs, pushing strollers, exercising and do the passeggiata . They have a generous size timber deck with sunbeds and umbrellas with steps down to the water, directly in front of the hotel. There are a variety of rooms , some in the Annex across the road but still waterfront. The rooms are spotlessly clean and beautifully appointed. Most have water views but some not, allowing all budgets to be able to catered too. Breakfast is excellent with an abundance of choice . The typical continental breakfast plus fresh seasonal fruit ,yoghurt , eggs , 3 types of bread for toast whole meal, rye etc. cheese, meats, fresh salad vegetables. Some little surprises like almond butter , chia seed, sunflowers seeds. 4 types of cereals . Juice plus the expresso coffee of your choice. Fresh cakes and biscuits . Really so much choice to suit all tastes It’s a family run , Andreas father and mother visits most days . Raffella and Andrea 2 on reception are both very kind . Maria the housekeeper always smiling kept my room spotless and showed real concern for my predicament. The hospitality I have been given has been nothing less than outstanding . Genuine, kind and caring. I was travelling alone and not able to weigh bear. They went beyond the responsibilities of a hotel . Especially Andrea , delivering my take out meals . Filling my prescriptions, trips to supermarket for essentials. Alessandra. interpreting when the orthepedic specialist made a visit to my room. Also special mention to Joe ,he’s more than a Taxi driver. A kind, caring, extremely helpful guy who I could depend on to organise X-rays, pick up medicines and just generally be a nice guy answering any questions I had. Also took me around the area filling me in on the history of the towns and regions. Message me if you need his invaluable service. He’s the brother to Alessandra . It’s that family connection that makes it special. After a couple of days of me sitting on the promenade bench taking in this magic view, the Amalfi coast on the opposite side of the bay. Alte aspettative, deludente realtà.......in generale abbiamo trovato un organizzazione alquanto approssimativa, dalla pulizia e attribuzione delle stanze alla gestione dei posti auto, una colazione deludente, non all'altezza di un 4 stelle L. Abbiamo soggiornato un fine settimana, con la colazione della domenica che era un residuo di quella del sabato. Se vogliono mantenere il target proposto devono rivedere qualcosa.....non consigliabile.....

Le uniche note positive sono posizione centrale della struttura e la gentilezza di alcuni dello staff. La camera è passabile, il condizionatore vecchio e il materasso molto duro. Si avvertiva un certo odore di umido. La colazione non di ottima qualità. La piattaforma sul mare è piccola e con nessuna sicurezza garantita. Ma la nota peggiore è stata il proprietario. Avevo letto di altre recensioni che lo descrivono con parole non gentili e purtroppo devo confermare. Soggiorno prenotato via mail dove la struttura stessa mi precisava che il prezzo comprendeva anche colazione e parcheggio. Al checkout però il proprietario ci chiede 15 euro un più per il parcheggio. Io gentilmente dico di avere la mail dove veniva specificato il contrario e lui in modo arrogante ha voluto che gliela mostrassi. Fin qua potevo anche starci, ma di fronte alla prova scritta nero su bianco, ha comunque preteso i 15 euro con grande maleducazione. Noi siamo stati dei signori a confronto, e siccome erano presenti anche altre persone, abbiamo pagato ugualmente. Mi dispiace perché nonostante tutto, avremmo potuto scegliere la struttura per un eventuale prossimo viaggio, ma l'atteggiamento mostratoci è stato inaccettabile e privo di rispetto. Ci siamo sentiti derubati dei nostri soldi. Sicuramente non torneremo più. A quanto pare il "signore" in questione era più contento di ricevere i 15 euro subito che di un possibile prossimo soggiorno.

Camera piccola climatizzazione malfunzionate x 4 gg. Balcone sul terrazzo atrui a 3 mt . Bagno e doccia rividibili. ascenscere fermo Terrazza sul mare scadente per lettini ammalorati ed ombrelloni insufficcienti , alle 18 dovevi andare perchè dovevano preparare il ristorante.

Bellissimo hotel sul mare. Personale disponibile, gentilissimo cerca di affrontare e risolvere i problemi . Non funziona nulla. Assolutamente da sconsigliare. Il condizionatore va solo con modalita' "gelo" per cui di notte si spegne e si tiene la finestra aperta con conseguente veglia per i rumori della strada compreso camion della spazzatura che passa di mattina presto. Avevo chiesto di riservarmi una camera con vista mare e balconcino laterale spiegando che mi serviva in ombra nel pomeriggio per leggere fuori. Il proprietario mi ha dato una camera con vista mare, laterale ma che prende sole tutto il giorno e non c'e' una tenda. Il televisore consente di vedere solo i canali 1,2,3 quando non c'e' vento e ha un pessimo audio. L'ascensore non funziona. Sono stata nella struttura aggregata 14 giorni e, solo dopo 10 giorni, ho visto gli ascensoristi, che non hanno risolto il problema. Il cosidetto solarium con lettini arruginiti e scomodi e la ringhiera della terrazza arruginita da non poter stendere ad asciugare i teli. La colazione lascia molto a desiderare per varieta' e qualita'. Cattivo anche il caffe'. Il proprietario, molto cortese alla prenotazione, non si degna di rispondere alle lamentele dei clienti. Dovrebbe assumere piu' personale per i periodi di alta stagione ma evidentemente pensa molto e solo ai suoi profitti.
