호텔 부티크 칼라스 데 알리칸테

For our two weeks vacation in Alicante we were looking for a nice and affordable accomodation in a non touristic area. Choosing this hotel turned out to be a good decision: The hotel is located in a residential area in the district Cabo de la Huerta. From there it is a 15-minute car ride to downtown Alicante. The beautiful beach of Playa de San Juan can be reached in a 30-minutes walk. Various stores, supermarkets and recommendable restaurants are also nearby. To get there you have to walk about 15-20 minutes. The hotels lovely architecture caught our eye upon arrival. We could see at first glance that everything was clean, tidy and in good shape. At the front desk Luis gave us a very warm welcome. He and his colleagues were always friendly and helpful. We really appreciated their cordial attitude! Our room was a standard double room in which we felt comfortable. The room was cleaned daily in a very thorough manner. There was absolutely nothing to complain about cleanliness. Air condition was powerful and ensured a good sleep at night even when outside temperatures rarely dropped below 25 degrees centigrade. The furniture was in good shape and our room was equipped with a safe and a little fridge. The room was not too big but we already knew that before. The bathroom however was spacious with a large walk-in shower. There was also a balcony with a little table and two chairs. The noise level in our room was good. We could not hear our neighbors and outside traffic only on weekends when there were a couple of noisy motorbikes on the road. The bed however could be improved. Persumably the original king size bed in our room has been replaced with a much smaller double bed on a metal undercarriage. Reaching the night table from the bed required some stretching as there were huge gaps between the bed and the night tables. The mattress was quite hard but ok. To stow clothes you have to use an open cupboard with a small rail and unfortunately very few shelves. In our opinion more shelves would have helped to use the space more effectively. Breakfast was good. You could have breakfast either in the conditioned dining room or outside on the beautiful patio. They offered a variety of food including hot dishes like fried egg and vegetables, sausages and tortilla. Fresh fruit was offered as well and also a lot of pastries. Many hotels unfortunately fail in serving good coffee but not this one as coffee is strong and tasty! The orange and pineapple juice however tasted awful and cheap. Dear management, there is something to improve... Last but not least let me tell you about the underground parking. There are about 10 spaces available where you can park your car. If you have a larger car keep caution of the narrow curve when entering the ramp. In the hotels vicinity there are furthermore plenty of oppourtunities to park alongside the street. I have nothing to say about the pool as we did not use it but it also looked very clean. All in all it was a

Lovely hotel. Ample sized rooms, nice restaurant on site. Nice pool with plenty of loungers. Fabulous breakfast buffet with a huge choice. Little bit far out of town if you don't have your own transport, but regular tram service is about 1km walk away.
