This is a single story motel where you can park right near your room if there’s a space available. The air conditioners however face the same direction as the parking area which will suck in people’s car smells. In our case someone else’s car had a gas leak and the fumes were ****** into our room while we were sleeping. That’s mostly an unfortunate circumstance for us but I also noticed a lot of human hair all over our pillows as if the cases weren’t changed from the previous guest. I did like the simple setup, decor, the bigger size smart tv, the amenities, the price, and the distance from Cedar Point but I won’t stay here again.

Great place to stay! We stayed here with our dogs and loved having the big grassy area out back to take them. About a 10ish minute drive to downtown restaurants and bars. Check in and check out was really easy and user friendly to do.

Wheelchair accessible My daughter is in a wheelchair and it’s hard finding places that are wheelchair accessible and this place is definitely wheelchair accessible. They have a roll in shower and plenty of room for my daughter to move around in.

No staff or office to get extra towels, coffee etc. Floor in room should be mopped. Kids took a shower, walked across the floor and their feet were black. Very quiet and beds were comfortable.

The bed was off the charts comfortable! Crisp, clean, boutique style rooms with a really unique design. Perfect for overnight stays, not ideal for business travelers.

This was a neat little place to stay. The room wasn't big, but it was perfect for an overnight stay. Close to Cedar point and downtown Sandusky and the ferries. Nice job on the renovation of what we assume was an old hotel. Had some challenges with checking in but got everything worked out. Only complaint would be we could hear our next door neighbors through the walls but not a huge deal.

10 out of 10 Recommend The team at Explorer were great to work with. They were super accommodating. We had booked a 3 day stay but the. We realized we needed an extra day. They gave us a late checknout on our first room And then an early check in on our new room. The suite we stayed in was spacious amd clean. The beds were comfortable and the room had a great temp. The linens were clean as well as the towel, which there were plenty. The kichenette worked for our needs. The Explorer is super close to Cedar Point was super close and easy to get to. Only about 10 mins to downtown Sandusky which had some great options for food.

Pros: Very cute inn and nice property. Good size bed for family of 4 (young adults). Close to ceder point with a lot of amenities:) Cons: Too noisy with cars driving by. Train track is like 10 feet away and so loud. I’m very light sleeper so it wasn’t a good fit for me. Sink is small and hard to wash face, but I guess washing face in the shower works:)

Adorable, comfortable, convenient I'm not one to get excited about sheets and towels, especially for a last minute trip, but my goodness, these were delightful! The bed was super comfortable. You can't beat the sport's proximity to Cedar Point, and it sure beat driving home 2 hours. I'd love to give it a shot with the kids some time. The TV was absurdly hard to work (though if I could have figured it out I think it would be amazing.) An instruction manual for that would have been a nice touch.
