Very disappointed. I went to this hotel in July 2025 and i don’t plan on going again. It was outdated,dirty and staff were rude. I shared a room with a few friends and there was stains on our wall. My friend found a pair of knickers under her bed aswell. Our shower leaked through the ceiling downstairs and the toilet was leaking aswell. I do not recommend going here as there were nicer hotels which i wished i booked instead of this one.

My experience at the Friends Hotel was terrible, the staff were extremely rude, unhelpful & unwelcoming. Also to mention the family was extremely strict and the staff can’t cook for the life of them. The bacon was undercooked and slimy, the cups were extremely dirty, their kids were serving us because they too cheap to hire anyone. The bedrooms were extremely grim and in need of a deep clean. The rooms had stained walls, dirty bathrooms in need of a full refurbishment throughout. One thing I forgot to mention they didn’t provide basic amenities e.g shampoo, conditioner and handsoap. I would not recommend the Friends Hotel because there is cheaper, cleaner and better alternatives elsewhere.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this place was truly awful. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable, and the bathroom was in a shocking state — broken, dirty showers, a leaking toilet, and no basic essentials like toilet paper or soap. My bedroom was disgusting, filled with rubbish and belongings clearly left behind by previous guests. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned at all. To top it off, the staff were rude, unhelpful, and bossy. I would strongly advise looking elsewhere — this place is not worth your time or money.

Absolutely hands down the best hosts for a brilliant hotel..! Abbie and James are so accommodating to fit ur needs in all aspects, nothings ever too much and we’ve made some good friends in them.. we’ve stayed here the last 2 yrs and definitely will be for many more to come!

Abbie is the best host we’ve ever had on the IOW, she is happy helpful and really does do a fantastic breakfast with a Smile. We had 3 fantastic nights sleep, rooms are basic and very clean with a price tag not to grumble at, Hotel is being upgraded day in day out, Negative reviews are really not appropriate for the price.so good we are staying again. 23rd-26th August 2024 Grant/Justine x

Friendly, helpful, accomodating. Abbie and James are lovely. For breakfast there was cooked and continental. They are refurbishing but the rooms are clean and comfortable. I came here with a friend for the IOW Festival and it was perfect. Really easy for the festival bus or normal buses. Abbie had all the information printed on times and gave directions. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for the 2023 Scooter Rally. Absolutely loved it here Abbie is the best hostess so accommodating and friendly made us all feel very happy Lovely breakfast and Sunday roast catered for all our needs. We have all booked for next year already
