Where do I even begin, absolutely beautiful and top notch service. Arrived to the lovely Pricilla directing us to our fabulous room. So accommodating and knowing we were tired from traveling, gave us time to freshen up before a great tour of the winery with great stories along the way. Delicious and informative wine tasting, just a perfect amount followed by yummy appetizers. All of this in the most beautiful setting. Moved inside for a delicious dinner of multiple courses. Retired for the evening shortly thereafter due to a long day of travel. Bed was so cozy, room decorated simply and just perfect. Loved the doors to the room, beautiful and rustic all at the same time. Day started with a exquisite view, great breakfast with many tea selections, cranberry being my favorite! Took an amazing hike down and around the vineyard which was clearly marked. Returned to our unfortunate time to depart for our next destination but not before a wine purchase. Can’t tell you enough how wonderful of an experience this place was and the hospitality we felt while there, just perfect. Sylvia with her Google Translator made the stay of the non-Spanish speaking travels easy as could be and Pricilla’s English was great!

After driving 6 hours from Pucon, we arrived late afternoon. No response at the entry gate intercom so we had to telephone the number for wine tasting. Whoever answered had no idea who we were but they opened the gate anyway. Drove up to the hotel but there was no one there. After wandering around for a while, we found someone (Mary ?) who we think may have worked in the winery. Eventually after what felt like and age, we speak with the owner through Mary’s mobile phone. The owner informed us she had had personal issues and would see us in the morning, telling us that “Mary will sort out your dinner”. So not quite the advertised; ‘gourmet meal prepared in traditional style’, ‘personalised service to each visitor designed around their individual tastes and preferences’. Mary informed us we were the only guests at the hotel. By now, all our alarm bells were ringing. Despite it being an additional 4 hours driving, we chose to leave Casa Bouchon and push-on to a hotel we (not our agent) had selected. We are convinced we dodged a bullet and breathed a huge sigh of relief when we arrived at Vina VIK.

This hotel is settled in a typical Chilean construction built close to two hundred years old. Walls are made of thick adobe which keeps the temperature down. Furniture belongs to its founding years and bathrooms are totally renewed with modern equpment. Vines are at a walking distance and the pool is nice for the day and the hot tub for ten is a nice experience after dinner. The owner is fond of hunting and various animal busts decorate walls.
