Didn’t Bob Ross say there were no such things as “mistakes,” but rather “happy accidents?” Because I feel like I stumbled upon the Madison RIVERWALK by accident…but it was certainly a happy one, and staying here was not a mistake! My husband and I had a wedding to attend in SATX. We also had never been to the town before, so we were pumped as it was always someplace we wanted to see. Note: this area is not RIVERWALK “proper,” but IMO that’s a good thing. You get better more cost efficient accommodations plus there were so many cute places to walk to that were close by…we are from NYC, so we are used to walking anyway! Please note: they do things a bit different here. If you are looking for like a bells and whistles type chain, then you won’t get that here. But the whole process was so seamless. First this is an Airbnb property, but technology advanced. Codes to get in, and you choose your own code for your apar**ent. And yes, you get a freaking apar**ent! We actually received an upgrade, which was great (I joked with the management that it was likely bigger than our place back home…it was, but it’s neither here nor there). The bed was super comfortable. The climate control was lovely and worked a little *too* well. TVs in living area and bedroom (we had the 1BR). My only gripe was that the hot water ran out QUICKLY in the morning. I don’t know if it was a circumstance of check outs or whatever, but on our last day it was disappointing. Some of the complaints didn’t necessarily bother me - like people walking around and making noise at night. Guess I slept during that! We also had a car #becauseTexas. Only street parking. I had no trouble finding parking. But I was there in March, not sure if it gets problematic in other months (all residential though and no meters!) They were even gracious when my husband and I realized we had left something behind in our room (in other news, we are dumb). But they allowed us to retrieve it so no harm, no foul. I don’t know when I’ll be in SATX next. I certainly will not hesitate to stay here again though.
