We stayed at La Candela over 12 years ago, and had no hesitation in rebooking for a longer stay this time. It’s located just 4 or 5 blocks away from Plaza 9 de Julio, this charming town’s main square. This is a small hotel with not many rooms and this time we traded up to a junior suite (which is well-worth the small extra expense). Our room was spacious, overlooking Pueyrredón, with a king-size double, a sink in the room (useful), with shower/loo/bidet in separate room. Plentiful hot water (though water tended to leak over the bathroom floor!). Reasonable clothes storage space. The safe was an old-fashioned box with a key and although spacious, not big enough for a laptop. Fridge in the room too. Being Brits, we appreciated the electric kettle, plus cups and tea bags (though why the cups had no handles was a bit weird). Being such a small hotel, don’t expect the lavish breakfast spreads you get in the larger hotels. It’s a more restricted choice here which was OK but you can order eggs cooked however you like. Stranglely, the breakfast tables were laid with the bare minimum of cutlery and crockery, with no spares obviously available if, for example, you needed an extra spoon or plate. The reception staff were always friendly and helpful. If we were to return to Salta again, we’d look nowhere else – we’d stay at La Candela.

Hotel La Candela is located in the centre of Salta at 2 km of the bus-terminal. The hotel offers 12 rooms over 2 floors, indoor parking, a nice city-garden & outdoor pool, a lounge & breakfast room. The hotel is charming and well maintained. Free Wi-Fi. Friendly and helpful staff. La Candela applies two different rates. Argentineans can pay in ARS, foreigners are charged in USD. We insisted to pay in ARS. As a result a weird calculation was presented. The rate in USD is recalculated in ARS via the official rate. Whether the 21% VAT is already included stays unclear. Then 10% discount is applied when you pay cash in ARS. As a result you pay 4% more than the rack rate in ARS. We found that highly confusing. The white towels are greyish and seem to be unclean. There is a need for a better laundry service. We had a room with view of the garden. Our room was adequately furnished and decorated, with a good double-bed, TV on the wall, fridge, table & chair, air-conditioning, wardrobe & safe. We had a separate small bathroom with toilet, washbasin, bidet and shower over the bath. All was very clean. Windows can be opened but have no mosquito-screens. The breakfast buffet is OK: pastries, bread & croissants, ham & cheese, butter & good marmalades, fruit-salad & orange juice, cereals, milk & yoghurt, tea & coffee. We found hotel La Candela comfortable and we had a good stay. Recommended.

La atención muy buena, buen desayuno. Limpieza buena y excelente la habitación. Lugar tranquilo y agradable. Una casona antigua adaptada para ser un confortable hotel. Cerca del centro comercial de Salta Capital y a una pocas cuadras de la plaza principal

Excelente experiencia. Fue todavía más de lo que esperábamos. Orden y limpieza: Siempre encontramos impecables tanto la habitación como todas las instalaciones (parque, pileta, desayunador, etc.). Personal: El personal de recepción, desayuno y limpieza siempre atento a lo que necesitábamos, no solo buenos profesionales, sino que también personas. Desayuno: Riquísimo y completo. Para los que buscan algo saludable, hay mix de frutos secos, cereales, yogurt y para los que no, ricas medialunas, budines, tostadas, fiambre, queso y tarta. Siempre estuvo listo para la hora que lo necesitamos por las excursiones. Hotel: La habitación nos pareció muy cómoda (los colchones, almohadas, etc.) y climatizada. El parque es enorme, tiene pileta, muchas reposeras, sillones y mesas afuera.

Nos alojamos una noche, hotel bien ubicado, habitación normal, cómoda, el baño un tanto chico. Buen desayuno, lo mejor el patio con sillones para sentarse en una galería con vista a la pileta. Muy buena atención de todo el personal. Importante..tiene cochera.

Hotel céntrico, personal joven y atento, (unos más que otros) limpio, pero la antiguedad pasa factura, tanto en el mobiliario como en el acceso a las habitaciones. El desayuno poco variado pero al estar disponible muy temprano, facilita la salida de excursión. No tiene restaurante.
