This is our second time staying at this location. We were booked in another hotel and moved here after one night because the other place provided restaurant vouchers for their “full breakfast”. I now know how important it is that we have an onsite breakfast. And I appreciate having a full kitchen. We got a smaller suite this time as there were fewer people in our party. The smaller room did not have an oven which could be important depending on your situation. There was some wear in the bathroom but everything seemed pretty clean and smelled fresh and clean. The water heater was replaced while we were there and when we went to use the pool that day it smelled a little questionable and the water was sitting stagnant. I believe that was a one off situation because of the work being done. The only other complaint I have is that they charged $12/day for parking which I was not informed of when we checked in. I think it likely that was the case the year prior as well but I had not remembered that. I like and recommend this property. The staff is friendly and attentive and we like the property and the breakfast.

While on this property multiple items needed to be addressed. Smoke alarm in king room was covered with a plastic bag. King room had door lock reversed so someone could be locked into the room not out of the room. Dirty flat surfaces in the room. Queen room tv never worked. Second floor clients were extremely loud and jumping on the floor through out the day and night. Unsatisfactory for an established hotel like this.

May 26, 3:46 pm (11 hours before check-in) email from Marriott Residence Inn, Salem: "Due to a communication error between our system and sales, we have been overbooked and do not have a room available to check you into." But not to fear they have booked us at the Doubletree right down the street, must be just as good right? Not! The hotel is undergoing construction! The room is unfinished, furniture is scraped, the light switch plate is broken and there's a hole in the bathroom ceiling -- plus, no wifi or any other internet connection! Although the room is paid for, when you're on vacation you want someplace pleasant! And a hotel that honors its reservations!

We went to Salem for Thanksgiving with family. I went and checked in @ 4 o'clock Went to look at the room and turned the heat up to 68 from 60. Came back to the room at 10 o'clock and it was still 60 degrees. The heat did not work so we froze our butts off all night. In the kitchen there was food scarps on all the drawer and appliance handles, opened the cupboard to get a glass but every glass had not been washed lip prints and greasy fingerprints still on the glasses! There was a dishwasher right there. Housekeeping couldn't just put the dishes in and push start? Sticky like spilled juice on the nightstands and greasy handprints on all the cupboards in the kitchen! They served breakfast but it was horrible, cold and no gravy, I told the attendant the gravy was empty at 8:30 am and she said there isn't any more. Really you don't stock up for a holiday. I wanted to try a waffle but there was only one waffle maker instead of 2 like most hotels, didn't want to stand in line to try it. I could go on but I'm going to stop now I think you get the point. Someone needs to go in after housekeeping and see what kind on job they are getting paid to do.

I'm sorry but this was horrible. 284$/night and I couldn't even stay there. Hallway smelled like vomit and the HVAC didn't work so no AC. Not up to residence inn standards at all. I had to leave Eugene due to the game and wanted a place relatively close by so I could get to the airport on Monday. The staff were friendly enough but the accommodations were horrible. Left within 10 minutes. Had to drive another hour to find a clean place but it was worth it.

This was not worth the money to stay. The bathtub was dirty and stained with what looked like blood. There were crazy smells of ****, taquerias, and raw sewage. The pool was scuzzy and just not what was advertised. Was only here one night and that was too long.

The night manager, Tim, was incredibly thoughtful. We checked in late and he heard us say that we hadn’t been able to grab dinner so he brought us some snacks so we could eat a little before bed. Tremendous customer service!

We all liked the convenience of the location, and the size of the room.

This place is great. We enjoyed the swimming pool, the workout room, and the bedroom. Breakfast was good. The eggs could have been better, but they had good bacon, breakfast croissant sandwiches, oatmeal and waffles. The bed was comfortable, but the couch was subpar. When we sat on it we sunk in. The elevator was cringe - on the third floor it said only three people can be on the elevator, but the sign was not posted anywhere else. We feared at times if we would make it to the designated floor. Overall, it is a great place and we will stay again.
