I had such a positive experience that I signed up for Trip Advisor solely to write this review. My wife and I have traveled to some of the best hotels in the world, and The Carlton truly stands out. Alessio Ripamonti and the rest of concierge staff promptly and professionally responded to my many requests (I sent over 30 emails to plan activities, confirm reservations, activities, etc.), including some of my requests that, quite frankly, were almost unreasonable. Some examples of the service include (i) delivering $100 in cash to us in town when we found ourselves in an establishment that only accepted cash, (ii) apologizing that one of the hotel’s complimentary Bentleys was going to take five minutes to arrive to pick us up from dinner (and then it showed up in about one minute!), (iii) without us even requesting it, they lugged our big bags onto our train cabin and got us situated (true door to door service!). There are countless examples, these are just the few that immediately come to mind. The service is impeccable. The rooms, all of which have fantastic balcony views over the lake, are an elegant blend of old charm and modern convenience. The restaurants onsite are both superb. The complementary breakfast is terrific, and the dining room is beautiful (see the pictures I included with the review). The spa/pool areas (three flood, including an outdoor hot pool with a view of the lake) is spacious, well designed, and has everything you need. They even have a complimentary daily sauna ritual that is the perfect way to rejuvenate from a day on the slopes. They have a ski rental shop on site, and provide transportation to and from the main Corviglia cable car. I could go on and on, but the takeaway is this: although the price tag is considerable, it’s more than worth it for the experience. I recommend this hotel and cannot wait to go back soon. - David
