This hotel needs a refurb! The pool area is awful. The pool is green, with dirty tiling and the jacuzzi frame is all broken ... and the jacuzzi water is actually cold! The ski / boot room does not have lockers, and everyones ski's and boots are just hung around around the room - someone mixed their ski's up with mine one morning! Also, the boot warming rack does not warm your boots properly, so the next day, they are still wet. Also, there is a mens toilet next to the boot room, and I was staggered at the pictures / posters that the staff have fixed to the walls ... See the photo's ... Families were staying at the hotel, and these pictures / posters had the F - word all over them ... they make the hotel feel cheap and are inappropriate for any hotel, never mind a supposed 4 star. In general, this hotel is a 3 star at best, it's DEFINITELY not a 4 star hotel by any imagination! There are a lot better hotels in Saalbach than the Saalbacher Hof!

We stayed at the hotel 8 years ago and had a marvellous time then. The hotel has kept in touch through mailings and so we decided to do a return visit when we planned an alpine summer break. In the meantime the hotel has had a great freshen up : - the ground floor bar and reception area has had a cheerful quality makeover - there is wonderful artwork all over the place some of it very quirky and playful - the spa has been updated to create a spacious and calm space - the hotel branding “ Celebrate Life” and the cheerful colour branding of blue, lime and pink pervades the hotel decor, uniforms, menus etc - the hotel lays on a program of events and activities throughout the week including roof top pool party, BBQ, film night - on two evenings at dinner guests were given games to play at their table: UNO and “Tell us your story” which we enjoyed playing The rooms are so comfortable and well appointed. This time we upgraded to the Tower Suite : 70 sq m with stunning double aspect views down the valley. So why a 4 and not 5 point rating? There were just a few areas of the experience which need a bit of attention eg reception was un-manned on a couple of occasions and we were irritated by restaurant staff making a lot of noise preparing tables for breakfast while we were still having dinner - I know this is often the case but it was particularly noisy and disrespectful to us as guests. We took our cheese course up to our room to get away from it. But I still highly recommend the hotel

This is not your average traditional Austrian hotel with dark wood interiors( absolutely nothing wrong with them,i've stayed in many) It is modern, bright, airy and full of quirky art work. I had a lovely spacious bedroom with plenty of cupboard and hanging space (not your average single room.) A kettle with tea and coffee are provided too. In your wardrobe is beach bag with a towel for you to take down to the pool area. The whole hotel was spotless including the indoor and outdoor pool, library and lounge area. The restaurant is spacious and the food is superb with a huge choice from the breakfast buffet of cold and hot food made to order. The staff are exceptional helpful and friendly The roof garden is a joy. There are plenty of loungers around the pool and spaced out around the garden. We found there was no issue of people putting towels down to reserve a lounger. Wonderful hotel for a base for a week of walking or mountain biking in the Glemm Valley.

Lovely room with a great balcony view and very clean. Fab spa facilities and options to book treatments. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff. Would highly recommend!!

The town of Saalbach was brilliant. Ski lifts to the mountain tops and plenty of walks. But what made it a great vacation was the Hotel Saalbacher Hof. Great food, brilliant Staff and fabulous location could not have been better. Added to this was the complimentary “Mobility Ticket” which allowed free transportation within the Salzburg area, so free train and bus transportation. A great advantage.
