Our 4th visit to this magic place. Greg and Peter are the perfect hosts. Driving down to the Lodge, the bay opens up in front of you. The lodge has a very limited number of rooms - all spacious and beautifully decorated. It's a feeling of intimacy and personal service. The polished kauri floors, the balconies with views over the bay. Greg and Peter are very discrete - you hardly know they are there - but always available when you need them. The 3 course surprise breakfasts are incredible. This is the place we go to recharge our batteries. We travel a lot internationally - and this rates up there as one of the best places we've stayed.

We had a great 3 night stay stay at Arcadia Lodge and would highly recommend it for anyone spending time in the Bay of Islands area. Greg and Peter are amazing hosts and provided us with plenty of recommendations on what to do during our stay. Special mention for the absolutely delicious breakfast, which varied every day. We look forwards to coming back soon.

My wife and I had 3 great days/nights staying with Greg and Peter at their B&B/home. We were driving in heavy rain after a long day of travel, called from the road to see if there was a room, and Greg answered. I felt like I had just called my long lost, favorite cousin. He was accommodating and friendly. He guided us to the property and texted us to make sure we caught the ferry at Opua. We didn’t arrive until after 8pm and had not eaten all day. He called a local restaurant for us so we could get a bite before coming to the Arcadia Lodge. The accommodations were superb including the room décor, cleanliness, linens and even the soap. The breakfast was yummy, and the kitchen well stocked with local wines and homemade cookies. The two hosts were also very helpful in pointing out local sights and assisting in making reservations. The cost of our 3-day stay was extremely fair. We give them 10 stars on a 5-star scale. We look forward to returning.
