A great family Hotel in northern Germany, it has many times and great and friendly staff with the perfect stopover on the way north or south over the continent. Beautiful interiors and a wonderful spa and restaurant as well as a bar and winebar. Parking on-site and garage as well.

Very beautiful, quiet, comfortable boutique hotel. The staff was fantastic, the room was large, the food was superb, the gardens and grounds were tranquil and the pool/spa area was relaxing. Photos online of the pool are great, but the actual pool is better…lots of buttons along the walls that activate water jets, waterfalls and more. Breakfast was amazing; there was a nice selection of fruits, meats, cheeses, etc., and they offered to make our little one eggs anyway she wanted, or waffles, pancakes, or crepes. We would definitely return.

Stayed with family (2 adults, 3 children). Fabulous clean and spacious room, staff were super friendly and food (dinner and breakfast) was wonderful. Lots of lovely touches like home made biscuits in the room, fresh flowers everywhere, super comfortable beds and lovely bed linen. It’s not a cheap option, but you definitely get what you pay for. Children loved the pool and were well tolerated. Also great to be able to have all five us very comfortably in one room (fed up of having to book two rooms everywhere we go because we have more than two children). Would stay again in a heartbeat if the opportunity arises. Highly recommended.

Very nice boutique hotel and spa. The rooms are very clean and comfortable with all the comforts of home. The restaurant has excellent food with an unexpected variety drink selection. The Quail dish was amazing for supper. Highly recommend while in Rotenburg, Germany

Das Landhaus Wachtelhof ist ein charmantes Privathotel, welches seine Gäste mit einer herzlichen Gastfreundschaft und einer bemerkenswerten Liebe zum Detail empfängt. Während unseres Aufenthalts beeindruckten uns das gepflegte Interieur und der liebevoll gestaltete Garten. Alles war sehr gut erhalten und die viel verbauten Hölzer verströmen eine herzliche und warme Atmosphäre. Die Vielzahl an kompetenten und freundlichen Mitarbeitern, die stets für ein Gespräch offen waren, trugen maßgeblich zu unserem Wohlbefinden bei. Lediglich beim Empfang sehen wir ein wenig Luft nach oben. Weder wurden wir auf die Suite begleitet, über die Öffnungszeiten des Spas informiert, noch ein Gepäckservice offeriert. Die neu renovierten Suiten sind wirklich sehr gelungen, geschmackvoll hochwertig eingerichtet und laden zum Entspannen ein. Einzig eine große Glasscheibe in der Schiebetür zum Schlafzimmer verhinderte eine vollständige Verdunkelung des Raumes, was uns zu kreativen Lösungen aufforderte. Zudem funktionierte der Lautsprecherschalter im Badezimmer noch nicht und führte zu anfänglicher Verwirrung. Empfindliche Ohren stören sich ggf. an der Hellhörigkeit zu anderen Zimmern. Ansonsten eine wirkliche Wohlfühloase. Besonders hervorzuheben sind die kulinarischen Genüsse, die in diesem Haus angeboten werden. Auf der kleinen, aber feinen Karte findet der anspruchsvolle Gast noch viele Gerichte vor, die direkt am Tisch zubereitet werden – eine willkommene Seltenheit in der heutigen gastronomischen Welt. Auch der eigene Hauscocktail weiß zu überzeugen. Ein wenig geschmälert wurden die lukullischen Höhenflüge durch die fehlerhafte Kommunikation zwischen Rezeption und Restaurant. Trotz mehrfacher Hinweise auf unsere pescetarische Ernährungsweise fanden sich auf der Karte zu unserem Menü zwei Fleischgänge wieder. Glücklicherweise wurde dieses Missverständnis schnell und kompetent behoben; dennoch hätte die unnötige Aufregung vermieden werden können. Der Spa-Bereich war ebenfalls sehr gepflegt und für ein Haus dieser Größe entsprechend ausgelegt. Die Anwendungen wurden professionell durchgeführt und waren von hoher Qualität. Getränke und ausreichend Lesematerial stehen erfreulicherweise kostenfrei zur Verfügung. Trotz des beschriebenen Optimierungspotenzials war unser Aufenthalt im Landhaus Wachtelhof insgesamt sehr entspannend. Hier findet man in der Tat einen Rückzugsort, an dem man zur Ruhe kommt, neue Energie tankt und seine Gedanken frei fließen lassen kann.

Ho alloggiato 4 notti in questo hotel per un viaggio di lavoro ma, come da titolo della recensione, non lo reputo assolutamente da 5 stelle superior. Da fuori si presenta molto bene, in stile tedesco, un ottimo servizio è quello degli ombrelli a disposizione dei clienti, viste le giornate uggiose che abbiamo trovato. La mia camera era una doppia comfort, molto grande, bagno con doccia (il doccino era rotto e perdeva dal tubo) e vasca, non c'è il bidet. Gli asciugamani non erano pulitissimi e (nonostante il cambio giornaliero) presentavano comunque delle macchie. C'era uno spreco incredibile di plastica, in quanto tutti i prodotti per il corpo, da shampoo a balsamo a docciasciuma a crema corpo, erano in flaconcini monouso. La stanza, molto grande, ha la moquette, il letto matrimoniale è in realtà composto da due singoli uniti, le coperte sono il classico "sacco piumone" del nord Europa. Bel plus avere un paio di mele e due bottiglie di acqua frizzante a disposizione tutti i giorni in stanza. La nota dolente è la colazione: in una tariffa di quasi 160€ a notte, la colazione non era inclusa e l'abbiamo pagata 38€ (!) a parte. Non vale assolutamente la spesa. C'è disponibilità di prodotti freschi (formaggi, affettati, marmellate, succhi, yogurt etc), il problema è stato l'attesa estenuante per avere delle portate calde (da lista), come uova o pancakes o crepes (quasi 20 minuti di attesa in una sala colazione praticamente vuota), oppure il fatto che 2 camerieri su 3 non parlassero inglese. Il parcheggio esterno è abbastanza piccolo e si riempie in fretta, l'alternativa è parcheggiare sulla strada o dall'altro lato, dove si trova un Penny Market. Non ci tornerei.
