The spa was a great experience, the restaurant less so and actually much less so. Having booked a table for 80m we were 'surprised' to be sent away. The 28 euro menu was not available and a very rude member of staff told us that we would have to order from the 38 euro .menu. As we were about to walk put the situation was retrieved by Tomas and good food was then delivered. This restaurant needs to radically improve if it wants to retain its rating.

We enjoyed our stay here, the location, staff, spa and dinner service were really good. However, the building needed some maintenance and the cleanliness of the room, especially the bathroom wasn’t up to standard.

The trip started badly when we disembarked the ferry to see no taxis at the rank. The free Roscobus had stopped running as it was 8.30pm. we phoned the hotel for help and they were quite useless and said they were unable to find anyone to pick us up. Fortunately a taxi pre-booked by another couple agreed to return for us and delivered us to the hotel, an hour and a half after we had disembarked. Valdys told us that no food was available as it was 'too late' so we had to rush into town and beg a restaurant to give us dinner The room was large and comfortable with a lovely sea view but the bathroom was tired: the grout was grubby and various knobs kept falling off the vast shower control panel. The towels were TINY and thin, not at all what l would expect from a 4 star hotel. Internet was hardly available throughout Roscoff it seems and Valdys only had connection to what my phone kept telling me was an unsecured site, which caused us some concern. The bar, ridiculously, closed mid-evening so you couldn't sit and watch the sun go down with a drink. We didn't use any of the spa facilities so l can't comment on those but l definitely feel that there's room for improvement at the Valdys, not least in helping out guests stranded on the other side of town through no fault of their own.

Very different from a uk spa hotel & probably more dedicated to French customers. Strict rules when using spa/ pool regarding swim caps & speedos not swim shorts! Hotel was clean & tidy but lacked in small details that other cheaper hotels in France have offered ( such as air con/fan, umbrellas in reception ect). Asked for an extra pillow to be told there was non spare! Ate at the restaurant on the first evening of our stay- food was ok! Limted menu! Limited English spoken.

We had booked a room in this beautifully located hotel with a reserved parking space (10.5 euro per day) - the hotel looks really great in the photos and we were really looking forward to our stay - however, when we arrived at the hotel we were somewhat horrified, as it had the appearance of a run-down 1960's Soviet era resort hotel in need of a complete renovation - we drove around and all the hotel's parking spaces were fully occupied - the surrounding streets were chock-a-block with parked vehicles and we spoke to some hotel guests who had had to park over a half a kilometre away - we are both over 70 years old and certainly not able to carry our luggage such a distance - it was at that moment when we decided to abandon our plans to stay at the hotel and managed to book into another for the night. Our decision not to stay cost us 200 euros, but by then, there was no way we wanted to anyway !

This hotel is a good place to stay at but there is some exceptions. First of all they don’t mention that you need to bring speedos (the french type of swimming gear) but if your awarned that you need to bring it then the spa is a good place but the personal was really mean and breakfast was 22€ per person per day!!! I suggest you to go to the closest boulangerie and save about 20€ for the same breakfast served at the hotel

So badly treated by this hotel staff and manager. We had booked a double bed, which was paid for and confirmed by the hotel, on arrival we were given a room with 2 single beds pushed together. We politely asked for this to be rectified but the reception staff told us the hotel considered 2 single beds pushed together equivalent to a double. We then tried to go to the Spa and of course the main reason for choosing this hotel. Our booking confirmation outlined the Spa rules. These did not mention that standard swimming trunks were forbidden. We were refused entry as we didn’t have speedos! Again the manager and reception staff brushed us off and told us there was simply nothing they could do to rectify this inconvenience. Between us and *********** several emails have been sent to the management but without any response at all! They simply don’t care and couldn’t be bothered. The receptionists were speaking amongst themselves in French in front of my husband and I and being quite derogatory! An awful experience where all we were expecting was a lovely weekend away with friends.
