Le Pandanus

We had a wonderful experience at Pandanus! All the staff were absolutely lovely—very pleasant, kind, and friendly. They made us feel completely at home. We were a group of 11, our big family including mum, dad, my brother and his children. Although there were a few small issues during our stay, Mr. Christian Leopold went above and beyond to resolve everything quickly and efficiently. He is truly a good man and a great professional. The food was amazing! Every meal was delicious—special thanks to the chef. The gajacks and the local dishes were full of flavor, and we especially loved the breakfast, it was just perfect. The cocktails were also fantastic, thanks to the young gentleman at the bar who made them with such care and skill. Thank you to everyone at Pandanus for making our stay so special. We will definitely come back!

It is a calm place. The rooms were ok. We had the Ravanne Bleu which has an awesome view on the Ocean not the Mayos one which faces a newly-built structure. The kids like the pool. Service and food were ok. We read the reviews before booking there but I think we booked a wrong period where the property is under renovation and feels that there were few things missing, nevertheless for a 1st stay and last-minute booking for Rodrigues, we like the location and stay. I'm sure it will become a great place to stay post its revamping. All the best to the team.

We had a 4 night stay at Le Pandanus during November 2022 and our genuine reviews from a Mauritian couple are as follows: Pros: 1. Decent guesthouse with sea view rooms. 2. Very friendly staff. (No qualms on that) 3. Breakfast is varied. Cons: 1. Dinner is usually " table hote" , so the chef chooses what to serve based on what is available. Therefore, do not expect high quality dinners. 2. We went there at a time where the hotel was under renovation. This was a major turn off because at times workers were making noise during day time, worse, had to close the doors at day time bacause of no privacy. 3. It is also noted with concern that although official check out is supposed to be at noon, we were requested to vacate our rooms at 10 am itself because the guesthouse was preparing for space of upcoming guests ( who are normally supposed to check in at 14hr). 4. The housekeeping is average, bedsheets are changed only every 2 days and lighting inside also is not so good. Request not to rely on the attractive pictures put up on the website because they can be deceiving at times. 5. The guesthouse is at a location a bit remote (Baie Malgache) and not so close to Port Mathurin (20 minutes by car), so do not rely on the public transportation because buses come very irregularly ( had to wait 1.5 hours to get a bus to port mathurin). 6. The swimming pool is not well maintained so the water was a bit unclear/unhygienic for use. 7. The TV is not functional, no channels and wifi is very slow. We had to rely on MyT data packs which luckily works due to a telecom tower which is located nearby. Bottom Line - We went there just like you and based on the reviews hoping it would be a budget value for money vacation but trust me, If you can afford a little bit higher, go for a hotel/guesthouse closer to Port Mathurin where you might get better services at a more pleasurable location. Note- We gave a decent 3/5 which is mainly attributed due to the warm smile/modesty of the staff there who were very cordial for which we are very thankful.

Le Pandanus has all I needed ... well appointed clean room, private bath and toilet wonderful location close to bus stop, well-prepared breaky, and of course, facing the ocean! The staff are very attentive and will go above and beyond! I highly recommend Le Pandanus for wonderful experience in Rodrigues Island.

Nous y sommes allés pour dîner, sans réservation. Malheureusement une fois installés, on.nous annonce qu'il ne reste plus grand chose sur la carte déjà peu fourni. Mais malgré tout nous décidons de rester et cela a été un bonne décision. Les plats servis sont copieux et frais. Nous n'avons même pas pu terminer notre repas une fois les entrées dégustées. Petit bémol: temps d'attente extrêmement long avant d'être servis Je recommande
