We stayed in room on ground floor right next to very noisy busy road.not a peaceful stay can hear everything traffic, people coming and going in and out main door, room very basic, old furniture, lumpy bed , my husband nearly rolled out where mattress was so uneven, could do with a complete make over. On the plus side it was clean , and location is great. No reception area , I thought I had lost my keys at one point and had to run to pub before it closed to find a member of staff to help me, luckily we found it but if we didn't god knows what we would of done . Overall good stay , could be amazing if they up graded the furniture and fittings. Four star luxury it is not .

Disgusting and disappointing. The settee is filthy and stained, cannot even sit on it, it’s so uncomfortable. It needs taking to the tip! The bed is ancient and the we could feel the springs. Just needs closing down and refurbishing desperately. We spoke to a couple in the apartments, which were as bad, all the furniture needs burning and the apartment needs a good clean. Didn’t enjoy the stay at all.

My husband booked the weekend as a surprise for my 60th birthday. We pass through Rhayader frequently on our way to Aberystwyth but have never stayed there. Was booked as a Double Superior Room. The room was suitable as a base, but far from Superior. Parts of the room and bathroom are in desperate need of a deep clean. Bed was comfy, but the room being so close to the road was extremely noisy with passing traffic and the clock chimed every hour right through the night. Our second night was spoiled by the extremely loud visitors in the room directly above us and at 1.30am this was not appropriate. Staff were informed of this. Although we had a good weekend (plenty of pubs and delicious plaice in the Castle Hotel) we wouldn't chose to stay again.

Firstly, lovely area we had lots of lovely days out. However.. the beds honestly felt like they were older than my grand parents, you could feel each spring on your back. Spoke to staff about moving but nothing else available (however they were very apologetic and did try). Whatever it's only a couple nights we can deal.. What really got me is that I'm a house keeper in a b&b myself,so I like to help out and ***** the beds for the staff. On doing so I came across this monstrosity. No I do not belive this is red wine! Staff amazing but general care from manager... nope... why this wasn't thrown out. I'm sure if the mattress was tested it would not pass health code

Rooms are looking a bit tired now, not spotlessly clean by any means. A few holes in the net curtains, a lot of grime on the bathroom radiator and so on. The location has always been challenging due to being next to the main road, which means not really being able to leave the windows open and with all the motorbikes it is very noisy. Breakfast was superb though.

Haven't stayed at Ty Morgans for quite a few years. I love the quirkyness of the place, old walls, not straight walls. Bathroom clean and suitable Bed and pillows could do with an upgrade, mattress clearly bumpy and pillows very thin. Room overall could do with a good clean, (cobwebs on the ceiling, and mould on the windows), however the quick day to day clean was good and satisfactory. Kids room was perfect for our little one. Would stay again.
