더 스완 하우스(The Swan House by Heimaleiga)

The Swan House was an excellent choice of hotel. Although it’s not a traditional hotel, there is no receptionist, and you will be given a code to get into the lobby and your room. We arrived in the early hours of the morning. Having reserved to check in the night before we were able to go directly to our room. We had booked a basement apar**ent and it was very spacious. We had a private bedroom and a very large living space that had room even after the sofa bed was pulled out. The bathroom had a large shower that had amazing water pressure. Body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and hand soap were all included. The kitchenette had a small fridge and a stove top. I do wish there had been a microwave, but we were able to make do without it. Location was excellent. A couple block from the main shopping street, a couple block from bus stop #14 for tour pick ups. There is an amazing bakery near the bus stop that we picked up breakfast from. Many other restaurants were nearby. On checkout day you are asked to clean up the room some, trash and dishes. There is a closet to leave your luggage in near the lobby. We left our bags there to explore a bit more and returned to pick them up before heading to the bus stop for the airport shuttle. We did have a few minor issues but were contacted back via email in minutes and everything was quickly sorted out. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Separate apar**ent style room, with kitchen facilities and utensils. Enjoyed our stay here. It was a cold November in Reykjavik but the room was warm and comfortable. The stay was close to the pick up location of our guided tours which was an added benefit. I would recommend this place to all travellers.

This hotel is a scam. Beware before booking. We arrived at the swan house and our room was fully occupied. We waited hours in the lobby for an email from the hotel. The hotel workers said this happens consistently. We all had to find new hotel rooms. Note that ******* is not helping and will not do anything because their customer service says they can’t do anything if hotels scam you. I would not book with ******* in the future. We are also fairly certain the ‘excellent’ reviews for this hotel are fake. ******* has also refused to post our valid review multiple times.

We had a terrible experience, unfortunately. We tried to change our booking, one week before we were scheduled to arrive. We were bounced between ******* and Swan House, each company blamed the other for the problem, and in the end we were charged for the extra day, even though we did not check in until a day later. We still don't have our money back, now almost six weeks after our trip. Once at the property, the shower drain was clogged and overflowed into the bathroom. We called for maintenance, but no one ever came. Too bad because was otherwise a great location and cute room.

Check in was a nigh**are. There is no desk like other hotels. No check in instructions arrived by email or text. When I called, no one answered. Miraculously, someone called back about 20 minutes later and emailed the check in instructions. Worse, the check in email did not mention that the room we were assigned was *not accessible* from the address of the place. It was on another street entirely, and an inconvenient walk with a bunch of luggage. The room was great. Very spacious, nicely furnished. We made use of the stovetop several times. The bed was super comfy. Great pillows. Super convenient location. Parking is not so convenient, but normal for street parking in a city.

These apar**ents are in a fantastic location, in the old section of Reykjavik, within walking distance of everything we needed (restaurants, supermarket, museums). We appreciated the instructions regarding access to the property and our room and the parking suggestions (it was easy to find free overnight parking in T3 near the apar**ent, and it was easy to use the Parka app to pay for parking during the day). It is so nice to stay in an apar**ent when traveling - nice kitchenette area; large, clean bathroom (great shower!); large bedroom with comfortable beds and sofa. Not the most soundproof from ambient noise in the hallway, but not a problem in the bedroom when sleeping. Again, great location. Highly recommend.

The property was in a great location and the instructions for entering the property were very clear. The coffee was nice and the kitchenette had what we needed. There is plenty of parking and save yourself the hassle and download the Parka App. Parking is FREE after 1800 until 0900 even on the street this property is on (P2). We could have saved ourselves 20mins trying to figure that out and it would have been a much smoother check in process. The bed was comfortable and the shower is great.

The rooms were nice but there was a lot of problems. The staff meant to be attebtive but there is no onsite support and they can be slow to respond. There was only 2 pillows per room and those pillows were way too soft. Also no microwave or toaster.

The room was a hit. Very spacious, clean and comfortable. We had our room at the top of the house, roof apar**ent, so we could even see the sea. In the kitchen there was everything you needed. The location is more than optimal, only a short walk to the shopping street with souvenir shops, restaurants and supermarket. The bed is super comfortable, but after a week for us a little too soft, but that is a matter of taste.
