We had our wedding at Octant Douro on August 2, 2024, and it was the best day of our lives. The entire team at Octant Douro went above and beyond to make our day truly unforgettable. Special thanks to Andreia, Rachel, Rita, Eduarda, Miguel, and A. Catarina for their exceptional service and dedication. Each of them played a crucial role in ensuring everything was perfect, from the planning stages to the actual day. Their professionalism, attention to detail, and warm hospitality made our wedding a seamless and memorable occasion. We can't thank them enough for their hard work and kindness. We had the best stay as a family with our one year old son. The staff is incredibly welcoming and we are overwhelmed by their generosity and friendly/familiar way of behaving, never have we had this personal service before. The room was comfortable and the view of the Douro River is breathtaking. The restaurants have a variety of selection and has delicious food. Our son is super allergic and they prepared food for him every day! High service level. And the atmosphere is relaxing. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an unforgettable experience in Douro! Thank you to the staff! We will always remember this stay ＜3

This property is incredible start to finish! The grounds and interior are stunning and the team who work here went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. We stayed three nights at this property, which was perfect, especially if you plan on taking a day trip. We did a day at the Vino Verde region as opposed to Porto and it was fantastic- small, quaint vineyards, which the hotel concierge recommended. I recommend spending at least a full day staying on hotel grounds to experience all the hotel has to offer; the rooftop pool, nearby hikes, the boats, kayaks and more. It feels like a 5 star property and was one of the highlights of our Portugal trip.

What a place! The Octant Duoro is a simply exceptional destination hotel. Offering an idyllic riverside location, epic architecture and a range of great facilities it really is the full package. The views and architecture are spectacular. The rooms are quiet, calm, spacious and comfortable. The spa and food facilities are world class. And that is to say nothing of delightful team, whose lightness of touch and obvious pride in their craft provide the very highest levels in service. I've had the fortune to stay in a few noteworthy hotels, and Octant Duoro is right up there with places costing two or three times as much. Thankyou for a wonderful experience.

Best Place We've ever stayed and we've been all over the world!! We stayed in the Pool suites, which I highly recommend the pools are heated, the rooms are spacious. We had a 1 bed / 2 bath w/ living room with the view of the Douro River. It was spectacular to say the least. But what made it extra special was at check in a very special Catarina gave us a tour of the grounds and room, then set up a chat group and said I'm your personal assistant so if you need anything. I thought that was nice but didn't realize at that time how much she would be involved..... fast forward, she made dinner reservations and told us how good Raiva would be, we explained how we just had the worst experience at another Michelin star restaurant and she assured us we would be happy. Well, we loved it, Catarina even checked with the restaurant to be sure we had a good experience and asked us the next time she saw us. She set up winery tours and transportation for us. She even called the winery to be sure all went well and to our surprise, the Lady at the Winery took pics of us and set them to Catarina and she printed them out and placed them in our rooms with a very nice personalized note! Way unexpected and exceeding our expectations. She's the best and MVP. I also have to give a very special thank you to the Raiva Team. Joao, Laura, Piedro, Filipa who made ever meal extra special and made us feel like home. Joao even brought us some grilled Sardines for us to try on the holiday Saint Joao. So sweet and a tentative the entire team but these 4 spent the most time with us and deserve a special shoutout!!!

The location is spectacular as is the design of the building and it seems like all rooms have a view of the Douro river. Service is excellent as is the food.There are 2 pools that overlook the river. Rooms are large and well appointed. Highly recommend.

The property appears a bit run down and the attention to detail with customer service is lacking for this level of hotel. Having just arrived from a wonderful stay at the Le Hotel Monumental in Porto, the Octant was a real let down. I can’t imagine ever recommending this hotel and am a bit disappointed that American Express included it in their roster of “premium” hotels in the Douro Valley.

From the moment we arrived at the Octant Hotel Douro we were treated like family. The hotel was clean, the staff were attentive, friendly, and warm, the grounds were immaculate, and the service was terrific. The concierge(s) were always willing to help, were patient, and planned several day trips which were the highlights of our stay in Portugal. There were 4 adults in our party and we all had the samne sentiments. We would stay here again when coming back to Portugal.

My wife and I truly loved the hotel and the experience. The customer service was wonderful, food delic, the views spectacular, amenities top notch. Loved the nature walk nearby. Only disappointment was the noise coming from the vents due to the AC in our room that kept me up. Otherwise amazing place!
