레드 라이언 호텔(Red Lion Hotel)

I have stayed here for 4 nights. Very authentic place to stay - the hotel and the town as well. Friendly team. Good and tasty breakfasts. Nice bar .

We have stayed a few times at the Red Lion as it is extremely handy when visiting nearby family. I have always found it clean and the bedrooms all though on the small side are comfortable. This time was no different except there has been a change in management and you can tell the difference straight away. Friendly and assessable and very helpful. The new manager Dan was friendly and efficient and I wish him well in the future.

A busy pub with a few rooms. Ours was big but had completely frosted windows I guess to hide the view over roof plant. Plus an emergency exit door with an annoying green light above it on all night. Super comfy bed though and a smart bathroom, albeit the shower drain plumbing backed up a bit - reminding us it’s an old building. Furnishings are generic chain hotel which don’t really suit the room. It would benefit from a refresh. Friendly service but it’s definitely first and foremost a pub

The very sad decline of a once homely place to stay and eat. Checked in and taken to a cigarette stinking room. I know the thoughtless prior occupant caused it but the cleaners have to let the reception know. Second room was grim. Carpets frayed/holes, en suite lights not working, ceiling shocking, black mould in shower. We had the choice of eat in the bar or restaurant - the bar area smells of sulphur so we chose the restaurant. To be fair, the food quality was very good - it’s a shame to write this as I’ve always loved staying there. Staff were very helpful as well so it must be a Youngs brewery problem - complacency over investment. Only so far that loyalty will take customers because once the rot sets in, there are other better value options. Staff and food great. Won’t stay again until refurbished.

We stayed here for one night, arriving early and was greeted and welcomed whilst they checked if our room was ready, which it was. The room was clean and fresh. Bed was comfortable and shower lovely. Breakfast was delicious. Will definitely return.

There is a friendly atmosphere, the accommodation is cozy, we had only breakfast in the restaurant, but it was excellent. Parking in the hotel parking lot is also an advantage. We will definitely stay here when our daughter and son-in-law visit again.

This is an enormously overpiced Working man's Pub with rooms. Everything is expensive the staff, including reception do not look professional everyone wearing jeans, trainers and T shirts. The food was not good especially breakfast, £12 with room £13 if you order separate. There was no waiter, I had to look for one although he was very friendly. If you have mobility issues beware, the stairs are steep.

Had to go down to Watford for a night and wanted somewhere other than a soulless hotel, and found The Red Lion to be the perfect place to stay. The location is only a few miles out from Watford, in a nice town called Radlett. There is free onsite parking and I found checking in to be really quick, easy and welcoming. The room was really nice: more than enough space (I booked a double bed with en-suite) the bed was comfortable and the room clean and kitted out with everything you’d need. I didn’t have breakfast as had to get out early but I sat in the bar area and had a fantastic evening meal ( You have to try the Bavette steak and fries!) and the bar staff were more than helpful. If you’re looking to stay somewhere a bit different from a hotel, with a great pub vibe ( open fire if you can get a seat near it) and top notch food, you can’t go wrong. I feel it’s a good place to stay if you fancy a trip to London as it’s only 20 mins on the train and might do that on the future. Worth the money. You won’t be disappointed!

We stayed in Room 3. It was very clean and the bed was comfortable. We were challenged when working out how to use the shower and run a bath using the very modern Mira electronic controls, but the shower was good. Downside for us was the shower curtain as we prefer a shower screen. It was a Wednesday evening and the pub was fairly quiet. We chose to eat in a local restaurant. Breakfast was good and freshly cooked so took a little extra time. The secure car park is a bonus as it is very difficult to park in Radlett.
