Hampshire Holiday Parks – Queenstown Lakeview

Wife and I both contracted COVID-19 and had to cancel the entire trip (this is an international trip for us). Out of the entire two week trip, we had booked 8 different locations with only this one refusing to refund due to it being within a 6 day window. Terrible policy. We will be rescheduling our trip and making sure to leave this one off the itinerary.

The bed and pillows were comfortable. It had allocated parking spaces. The unit can do with a microwave and basic eating utensils. Like plates, knifes and forks. The shower head is placed very low and could not be adjusted.

Great location overlooking the lake. 5 mins from Gondala and 5 mins from Town where there is plenty of choice to eat. Staff were helpful, welcoming and friendly. Toilet/shower block was spotless. Highly recommend, but definitely book.

No hot water on my last night of stay. One of the heaters was broken. Basic facilities are there. For its price, average. Location wasn't bad 5 min walk to Queenstown town centre, 2 min walk to a bowling alley.

If you're looking at the Lakeview Holiday Park, it's most likely for their location, and for that reason alone may be worth the stay. But be forewarned, their is almost no privacy, with minimal border between lots. There seems to be a certain slovenly appearance which pervades the place, which is disappointing and so this place is marginal at best.

Have stayed here twice in a tent, both times have been very disappointing. First of all , the campsite was covered in glass both on the “grass” bit and on the parking space. The site also had a rotting banana peel and a dirty pair of boxers that, despite daily morning checks from the staff, didn’t move once in our five day stay and were still there when we left. Asked staff for a new space after the ground was so hard we couldn’t get our pegs in, and we got laughed at and told the campground was full even when it wasn’t. Toilet paper was frequently out in the toilets. This all combined with the fact that the construction will wake you up around 8 every morning makes this a great place to stay if you are desperate or a glutton for punishment.

Good central location and boiling water from a tap. That’s it. No pressure in the showers, very slow stoves, no free wifi (in spite of that expensive price). It’s easily gets very loud in the impersonal kitchen area (you just want to get out of there as soon as possible). I would never stay there again.

We booked this apartment late as our existing booking was on the main road and there were major roadworks being carried out during our stay. Wasn't sure what to expect, but we were more than impressed with our room. We stayed in Apartment 16 (2nd floor) which is a two bedroom tourist flat. The view from our balcony was truly extraordinary. We had a view of the Remarkables and some of the lake. The room itself was quiet comfortable and we were able to park very close to our apartment. The complex is very quiet as there is a rule for quietness from a certain time and it seems to be adhered to.
