Shorewater Resort, Qualicum Beach

I stayed at this property in July 2025. The written checkout instructions from the host were straightforward: leave by 11 a.m., put used towels in the tub or laundry basket, leave bedding in place, and taking out trash/recycling was optional. I followed those instructions, ran a load of dishes, and left the unit in normal condition after light cooking use. After my stay, the host requested an additional cleaning fee, claiming the unit was excessively messy. The host later left a negative review on my Airbnb profile describing exaggerated issues which did not reflect the reality of my stay. I did not leave a negative review of the property, despite being turned off by the host’s unreasonable request for extra cleaning fees. Future guests should be aware that this host may request extra cleaning payments beyond what is outlined in the official checkout instructions. My experience suggests there is a risk of being unfairly charged and reviewed after your stay. This was extremely disappointing and disheartening to deal with while otherwise enjoying a family vacation. Very unusual and unexpected behavior from the hosts.

We had an absolutely incredible stay at Shorewater, Room 206. There is nothing better than a room with a view. Looking out onto the beach and hearing the waves from your room can not be beat. The rooms are comfortable and it also comes with a full kitchen! We were able to grocery shop and come back to make our meals and enjoy a glass of wine on the balcony. It's the perfect end unit, so it's very quiet and easy to park on the side and have quick access to your room. The entire space was very clean and cozy! It's truly the ideal location for a girls getaway, family vacation or couples retreat. I will definitely be coming back to room 206 to enjoy the views and the beautiful town of Qualicum.

My husband and I returned for our third time at the Shorewater. The staff is phenomenal. Turned out we were upgraded due to some juggling. The suite we were in had a lovely fireplace, but the night was warm and it wasn't used. Loved looking out the window at the beach, such a relaxing place to stay. Heard the call of the Loon the day we were leaving. Wish we could've stayed longer. The bed was so comfy, and having the tv on the wall at the foot of the bed was a good placement. Hide-a-bed couch if needed. Beautiful art work on the walls, very clean, even a dining area near the windows. Coin operated laundry facilities on site. Check-in & check-out was so easy.

Beautiful little place. Great service. Used a Groupon. And you just can't beat the view. Close to food, farmers market . Love it. Camp fire on the beach. Hope to come again. Close to convienance store and beer store. All I needed for the weekend :)

Booked Shorewater because we needed accommodation with 3 separate beds. We also requested a unit with views of the beach. That was provided plus we got bonus views the two cute bunnies on the grass in front of our balcony and then beyond that the beautiful beach view. Lovely sunrise. We used the loft bed, the sofa bed and the bed that came out of the wardrobe. We all slept very well. Gas fire was appreciated and plenty of seating in the apartment too. Loved the soft & fluffy towels provided in the bathroom. We ate out at the German restaurant directly across the road for dinner. So convenient and very tasty. No complaints with our 2 night stay. Recommend.

If you are a light sleeper.... Waterfront was gorgeous. Bed was very hard and the building is very noisy. You can hear everyone else around you. Great staff and great town
