There are many ways to be a guest. You can be a guest of family or friends or the guest of one of the many forms of accommodation offered in exchange for payment. My partner, Pam, and I have found a place that treats us as friends first and customers second. Our first visit to Avion Retreat was for a weekend, and we were so overjoyed by the experience that we quickly decided a longer, mid-week visit was a must. So, we celebrated the fifth anniversary of our first meeting in Style. The facilities in our glass-walled cabin were completely five-star. Waking up to sunrises, cows gently mooing and mist down in the valley exceeded our ability to count stars. The nighttime view of the cosmos was a better accounting of Avion’s quality than words can convey. There are many fine establishments in beautiful places all over the world but they don’t have the factor that elevates Avion to the very top shelf. Avion has Shonnea and the rest do not. She, with family help, runs the place, cooks amazing croissants, prepares overnight oats, refuels the eco-friendly heater and has exceptional knowledge of the local sights and places to see. She makes you feel more like a visiting friend than a paying guest. What more could you ask for?
