Hemos decicido pasar nuestras vacaciones en Mallorca. Buscabamos algo diferente y definitivamente lo hemos encontrado.... Es un magnifico hotel, apartado del ruido donde sin duda te relajas y disfrutas de unas inolvidables vacaciones... Sorprende gratamente encontrar un personal tan entregado a su trabajo sin perder en ningun momento la consideracion al cliente. Las instalaciones son completas y los servicios excelentes. Podemos decir sin ninguna duda que es uno de los mejores hoteles en los que hemos estado. Los niños hane stado encantados y el trato recibido no podria haber sido mejor !!! Tenemos muy claro que volveremos !!

Stayed at the end of May 2004. Beautiful hotel-very well designed, big rooms, marble bathrooms, stunning mountain scenery. Down sides - the service was very poor - had to wait 20-30 mins to order a drink in the bar or pool, and often had to hunt down the waiters..not very 5 star. Watch out for the extras - they try to charge you 30 euros+ per day for the pool cabanas.. Plus the pray for good weather - there's not much to do in he hotel, and the local town is not exactly picturesque (lots of building going on)..All in all I think the hotel is attempting to punch above it's weight - until they improve the service they are strictly 3 star...

We had to give this one star, particularly after having returned a month ago, we were upset to see this hotel still getting such a high rating. We chose this hotel as it had been given such good reviews on trip advisor and to be honest it was cheaper than La Residentia, which we had always wanted to stay. What a mistake! The hotel is set in lovely surroundings and the manor house itself is lovely, but it is short staffed and poorly managed. We were shown to our pool suite - the whole room but particularly the bathroom had more paint and plaster falling on the floor that on the walls as there was a serious damp problem - complete with mobile dehumidifier set up in the bathroom - and it smelt. We couldn't believe they were trying to let this room out - for a 5 star hotel that was a very poor reflection. As no other rooms were available, we stayed that night on the promise of a move the next morning. We moved to find that they had put us in another room with the same problem, though not quite so bad. We had chosen this suite as it had an outside jaccuzzi - which was ice cold and didn't work! Despite a call to the maintence man, who pressed a few buttons and left saying it was mended - it clearly was not, and we got the distinct impression they were taking us for a ride. The reception staff then failed to return our calls to try to resolve the matter. The restaurant was OK but overpriced, the breakfast was poor - very slow to be served and the buffet was only replenished sporadically. The following day the manager finally appeared. She was very apologetic and we were offered an upgrade, but by this point we just had lo st all faith. We decided we had to leave, something we've never done before - it was very upsetting. It was the best decision we ever made - we had 5 nights at La Residentia and had one of the best stays we've had anywhere in the world.

This is a really stunning hotel - 6 stars! Ignore any old photos that you might see online - the hotel has been fully upgraded and renovated in a palatial style and no photos can really do it justice. The drive up to the hotel is lovely and gives you an immediate good impression. Staff were very helpful throughout our stay. We were upgraded to a lovely room with a small two level terrace. We were in a "palace" room and the walk to the room and the room itself have been beautifully decorated with paintings, beautiful fabric wallcoverings and furniture. The courtyard (internal and external) are beautiful and everything looks brand new. The views of the surrounding hills are lovely on a sunny day. The spa area had only opened the day before our stay and was fantastic - every detail is of a very high quality. We ate in the Gazebo restaurant for lunch and the Green bar for dinner - all the meals were lovely. Breakfast was served on the terrace - I would have preferred a buffet but there was a lot of food available on the menu. The pool area is lovely with plenty of cabanas. Only two comments - we did not enjoy the road from Son Bunyola to the hotel as it is a very zig zag road used by 100s of cyclists and quite dangerous so find another route if you are coming from that direction. It is very easy to drive into Palma and the road is very good so better to come that way. Keep an eye on the rates for the rooms as there is a lot of volatility and you don't want to find you have paid over the odds for what is an understandably very expensive hotel. We were fortunate to stay at a variety of other luxury hotels during our holiday and this was by far our favourite hotel. Highly recommended

This was the most INCREDIBLE hotel we have ever been to. The views, the interior design, the service, the staff, the food, the cocktails, the breakfast - everything was far better than we could have ever imagined. Vanessa, one of the hotel's receptionists, was an absolute delight and gave great recommendations for local Mallorca restaurants and sights to see. Patrick, one of the hotel's bartenders, made cocktails better than any that we had in Madrid/Barcelona during the other legs of our trip. And finally, BE SURE to book the wine tasting experience at the hotel with Marcelle - we had so much fun with him and learned so much. Overall, we'll remember our time at Hotel Gran Sonnet for the rest of our lives and cannot recommend this property highly enough.

Most beautiful hotel I have ever been to, almost feels like a museum. Landscapes around hotel are breahtaking. Pool area large & cosy.. Interior design is something special and although I have seen some pictures I was shocked by amount of beauty when I walked in to the building.. So manny art work and peces..so many history. The staff is verynice and helpful..they pay attention to every detail. Food and ambience in the restaurant was amazing..
