We stayed in Semilla Verde for three days and had a wonderful time. The property is located about 10-15 mins in a taxi ($8) from bustling Puerto Ayora. The hosts are very helpful and can quickly arrange taxis and all sorts of excursions on the island. The bedrooms are part of a luxurious villa with many communal spaces, terraces, and balconies overlooking the grounds where lots of giant tortoises roam. A beautiful peaceful retreat in the middle of Galapagos nature.

We stayed here for one night, and took advantage of the optional lunch and dinner service (as well as the included breakfast). The room and common areas were very nice. The meals were tasty - authentic Ecuadorian cuisine. And Cattya was a pleasant and informative host. But the real highlight of our stay was walking around the 12-acre estate, sort of a semi-tamed jungle. We spent 3 or 4 hours over a couple strolls along the various paths, past coffee, banana, plantain, guava, avocado, papaya, oranges, lemons, etc., plus a wide variety of other tropical vegetation. And of course we saw giant tortoises (at least 3 dozen of them). And finches, warblers, and many other Galapagos birds. HINTS: - being in the highlands, showers are common and it can get muddy and a bit slippery on the paths; wear suitable footwear - during our visit, it got cool in the room in the evening, and despite the air unit having a "heat" setting, it doesn't actually heat; we just wore sweaters

Semilla Verde is a unique and stunning place to stay when visiting Santa Cruz. The manager and staff are delightful and very good at making your stay memorable. Conveniently located a short taxi ride to/from the pier in town. Accommodations are nice, comfy, clean and quiet! Food is so good and home cooked! There is a hiking trail on site as well. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

It has been the most wonderful holiday we had as a family. Semilla Verde went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect during our stay. We went with our 4 years old boy and our 7 months old girl. We had a marvellous stay. Since we arrived at the airport, we were greeted by Semilla Verde taxi driver, and everything was taken care of. Our room was very spacious and comfy and we had such a good sleep each day even with our kids. Every day to wake up to Semilla Verde's views and atmosphere was such a delight. We booked the 5N6D package and everything was perfect and taken care of. Cattya made sure all details and things needed for each adventure every day was ready and we were given all the información necessary for each day. Sea Finch was amazing (Federico) made our adventures into a wonderful memories. We are very happy that we chose Semilla Verde, such a peaceful place with beautiful surroundings, my boy loved the place with turtles everywhere, lizards and Saba (the dog). He always asks when are we going back to Saba's house. Everyone was a pleasure to speak with, service was outstanding and food so delicious. It is very well located, such a short ride from the port and it only costs $10 taxi drive. We would love to come back in the future so my baby girl can enjoy the walks, the nature, the hospitality, the safety, the food and peaceful surroundings and everything. Thank you very much for such a very well organised trip and for excellent communication in the process. We loved Semilla Verde!

My wife and I spent 3 nights at Semilla Verde Hotel in Galápagos last week as part of our 10 year anniversary trip. It was truly magical! It is located in the beautiful highlands, away from the bustling port area. It felt like an enchanted wonderland. Upon check in we were greeted by resident tortoise Oscar who was grazing right outside our room’s patio. The host, Cattya is so helpful and a truly delightful person. She helped organize excursions, taxis and meals for us. I really do recommend letting them help plan your excursions. They were all reasonably priced, and we were picked up directly at the hotel. If you book excursions independently, you may need to get a taxi to the main port area to meet the group. All of the meals we had at the hotel were wonderful. The food was always delicious, and the staff were all lovely people. For my wife and I, our main draw to the Galápagos was to see the tortoises. This hotel was the PERFECT home base for that experience. It is located in close proximity to the two main tortoise reserves. And best of all there are around a dozen tortoises that live on and around the property. There is a trail around the perimeter of the hotel that you can hike and see them. You have to stay here to experience its natural beauty of the grounds of the hotel and the incredible tortoises you see when exploring . This truly is paradise and if you want peace and quiet with nature ❤️Cattya is extremely welcoming and nothing is too much trouble to help you with anything you need to know . Everything is luxurious from the grounds to the rooms. I even made time to have a dip in the pool . Staff are very friendly , the breakfast is outstanding fruit eggs bread etc. we hope to return to Santa Cruz and we will definitely be staying here again.
