Prescott has been one of our favorite cities in Arizona for years. We own a place in the woods but wanted to get a little bit closer to downtown. Our Whipple vacay is exactly what we wanted! About a mile from downtown shopping, restaurants and the courthouse square. Walking distance from coffee & pie (who doesn't LOVE pie?), the rodeo, grocery stores and restaurants. Trails for biking and hiking. Lakes for fishing, paddle boarding or kayaking. The home has space to be outside in the front at the firepit and plenty of parking. One of the perks is every Saturday there is a farmers market right across the street! We love to support local and we hope you will too. After visiting Prescott many times and staying at various properties, we noticed that they are almost always set up for the owner's benefit and not the guest's. Anyone can go to a garage sale and buy grandma's old lumpy mattress and furniture from 1964 to be in the Vacation rental space. We set out to change the Prescott vacation rental experience! We spent thousands alone on the master mattress. We offer a fully secure, padlocked backyard with not only a dog run but a dog door to the house. None of the furnishings are secondhand, garage sale, or Craig list specials. We are constantly improving and adding amenities to our property. Our reviews speak for themselves!The house is located a quick jaunt away from Prescott's beautiful Courthouse square and Whiskey Row. The yard is complete with a fire pit, A Kamado Joe Classic 3 grill/smoker, a child playhouse, and a Swingset. The backyard is lined with decorative lights to enjoy the cool evenings all year round. The house comes with a laundry room and office space that includes a printer. In the game room, you'll find a cast-iron wood-burning stove for the winter evenings. The property really is a quiet private place with all the amenities you might want or need.WILD ANIMALS ARE VERY COMMON. Make sure to quietly leave the house for your best chance at catching Deer and Javelina which are regulars on our street. We are within quick walking distance of a Mexican restaurant, and sandwich shop. Maybe consider sending the kids over to the bowling alley for a little Mommy and Daddy time, wink - wink it's seriously 2 min walk away!**Please keep in mind that the house is for the use of the intended guests, if you plan on having additional guests visit without spending the night during your stay, please inform us as to how many. Fawn Chalet is a private second story one bedroom suite in the pines of Prescott, just 8 minutes from downtown. This sparkling clean unit is complete with a kitchen and all the essentials at your fingertips, a washer and dryer in the suite, and a luxurious bathroom with a deep soaking tub. Enjoy miles of Ponderosa pines treetop views from the private balcony or hike/bike the trails just around the corner from this comfortable and elegant secluded mountain retreat. Host lives in attached home.Our suite is an approximately 600 square foot, one bedroom apartment with a private balcony overlooking Prescott National Forest. It is a private space with a separate entrance. There is a flight of stairs with a sturdy handrail up to this suite, with a safety gate at the top of the stairs. Although the host lives in the remainder of the home, the design assures locked privacy for both host and guest and they will not come in contact with one another unless the guest wants contact for some specific reason.The kitchen is equipped with a good-sized microwave/convection oven, as well as a refrigerator, dishwasher, Keurig coffee maker with non-coffee options, blender, toaster, electric hot water kettle, two-top hot plate that serves as a small stove, garbage disposal, and all the essentials for cooking including spices, sugar, and oil. There is a water purification system throughout the entire home, so there is no need to use bottled water while here.The living room includes a large screen smart Roku TV with access to Sling, Netflix, YouTube etc. and a firm pull-out queen size bed in the comfortable sofa. The lamp has a USB charging port on the base for phone and laptop charging (as does the bedroom lamp).There is central air conditioning and heating throughout, although a small heater can be left on at the base of the entry stairs where it tends to be chilly. Another decorative heater is in front of the fireplace mantle that also puts out heat and has a nice fireplace effect.The luxurious bathroom includes a very deep soaking tub and two sinks. All the countertops in the suite are marble and the unit is new as of 2024 and clean. There is a Solatube in the bathroom that provides plenty of natural light during the day.The bedroom is not huge but is equipped with a queen size bed, extra linens, pillows, and blankets, and a washer and dryer next to a closet in the room. There is a short dormer walkway to a window for egress in an emergency.There is a double locked door that separates the Host's living space in two places from the Guest's, and the suite does not face the Host's space on any side.Personal Note: As the Host, I want everything to be just as you would like it to be. If you have questions you can contact me at any time, but I won't disturb your privacy otherwise. Every season of the year has its charms and special activities here in our Mile High City. Our events begin with the Whiskey Row New Year's Eve "Boot Drop" and move on into the year with the many Arts and Crafts shows and summer concerts on "The Square" (Prescott Courthouse Square). Prescott's Frontier Days in July include "The World's Oldest Rodeo" and in October the streets are filled with goblins trick-or-treating the historic downtown neighborhoods, particularly on Mt. Vernon Street. The year comes to an end with the annual Christmas parade, Courthouse lighting, and Acker Night (music and cookies hosted by many businesses on and around"The Square"). Prescott has something for everyone to enjoy. Try some of our favorite restaurants or browse the shops on the square, rent a kayak and paddle around Goldwater Lake just a couple of miles from the chalet.
