While my husband had stayed at a B&B before, this was my first stay and what an impression was made. I absolutely loved the character, design, interior decorating, atmosphere, history and hostesses. We were greeted by Pat who was delightful. I enjoyed hearing the history of the home and area from her. She also was very helpful in recommending a couple other places to visit within a short drive to finish out the evening. We also meet Connie, who we were able to converse with in length through breakfast the next morning. She shared additional history of the area, exciting upcoming events, vision for the town/area, and other interesting topics. It truly was a joy talking with her. Connie also prepared a most delicious breakfast for us and topped it off with a family recipe breakfast cake. We definitely were not left wanting after that meal. The house itself was beautiful. It reminded me of walking into a museum but one in which you were very comfortable in and one in which you were allowed and encourage to make yourself at home. Bravo to Connie and her Fabulous Five ladies in making this stop such a fantastic experience for guests from all over the globe. Side note: While lunch and dinner dining is sparse, there are towns within a short drive that have many more options. We drove around 16 miles to Red Bud, IL for dinner that evening. Waterloo, IL is within a reasonable driving distance of 1/2 an hour as well.
