Grand Africa Rooms and Rendezvous

Grand Africa rooms was such a pleasant Stay Bianca went over and above to make our stay memorable. as well as front desk. It was a cold weekend and staff ensured we could stay warm by the outdoor fire. Food was lovely and Rooms are kept clean

UPDATE TO MY REVIEW: - Had previously made a booking on ***********. The hotel took all the money initially. I had free cancellation and cancelled weeks before the booking was to take place. The money has never been refunded. I've emailed numerous times now trying to sort this and no-one is contacting me back. But I know I'm contacting the correct email as they replied the very first time and now are ignoring me and not refunding my money. I did stay at the hotel but booked this directly through the hotel. So I've now paid twice for my stay and want my initial payment refunded. We had a lovely stay in Grand Africa. The hotel is just wonderful. Very different and uniquely decorated. Our room was fab with a big balcony and separate bathroom area with huge double shower and big bath etc.! Lovely bath robes and slippers were provided. We only had breakfast at the property. It was lovely but you were only able to order one thing from the menu so not like your typical hotel where you can have fruits and cereal and hot food. Which was disappointing. Other than that we didn't eat or drink at the hotel. The beds were comfy and the tv worked well. The views looked like they would have been lovely but we didn't have very good weather which was a shame. The lady at reception was helpful and friendly. Parking outside was convenient. The location was on the main street which was super convenient to everything! Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic Funky Room with great view. Beautiful sunrise from the balcony of the room. We stayed in the Bathhouse room. It was very big and spacious. Good value fo Romney. The staff was very nice and helpful. Good location and right as you pull into the Main Street area. It was easy to walk places from this location and they have security to watch the cars all night.

Ate here three times, friendly staff, good food. Would come again. First couple of times everything was perfect. We had same waiter and he was smashing. The third time, service was quite slow. OUR waiter was not there. Shame

This feels a bit like faded grandeur. The people are lovely. Rooms are big and airy, with great views. However, they have been hit hard by the load shedding, which turns off the electricity several times a day, for several hours. The hotel does not have its own generator, so when the power is off, it is candles. Breakfast was very nice.

The Grand is an institution in Plett, and mostly because we have great memories of our regular stays, the fact that its dog friendly, and the staff are FANTASTIC, we stayed again. The location is about as central as you can get, and the beds remain GRAND....but everything else is looking very worn and tired. From bedside tables that are de-laminating, to one too many coats of paint on things with first *****ping them down, it feels a bit sad and unloved.

I would not booking this place again when travelling to Plett. The unit was spacious,big bed,white linen,very clean and very friendly staff. I really really enjoyed my breakfast ,stayed only for 1 night as I had other towns to visit.

Coming to The Grand after lockdown may have amplified the experience but every time we return, the consistent service, great rooms and pleasant staff make it Our first choice for a getaway from our home and work in St Francis Bay. After an amazing sleep, breakfast over the Bay does not disappoint. I chose the salmon and hash browns - it’s simply outstanding. Asanda has served us before and took great care today. We’ll be back soon!
