A most enjoyable stay, every member of staff was warm, friendly and helpful Food was excellent and the little treats to mark our anniversary much appreciated.

Hotel is well placed on the bay with super views. We spotted dolphin on a coupe of occasions. Interiors were stunning with a light airy and high quality feel. Staff were attentive and friendly. However there were a few things that tainted what should be a 5 star experience. Staff never got breakfast right on 3 mornings we were there. They don't write the order down. So lottery as to what you actually get or when as had to chase delivery of toast, coffee etc. Even the ops manager got confused. Hotel is bottom of a steep hill so town center is reachable only by car for eating or shopping. They leave empty room doors open on our floor for some reason which slam shut in the wind. Happened each of the 3 days we were there. Properly makes you jump !!. We had an end floor room which was small for the price but at least had a partial sea view. I think the rooms on other side of hotel overlooking the car park would not be so nice. Overall a nice stay. Bit of polish it would have been great

This hotel is impeccably clean, with beautiful views of the sea and within walking distance of the main town. The service was wonderful from the moment we checked in, during dinner, breakfast and through to check-out. Our room was beautiful with a side view of the sea. We only stayed at The Plettenberg for one night but hoped we had stayed there for longer. It’s a beautiful hotel and we look forward to coming back soon.

This hotel is spectacular. Incredible 5* star property, with high end interiors and location. The staff were also exceptionally helpful and friendly. The location and view are incredible. It’s very simple to walk to the shops (during the day) or the beach. The hotel is so well equipped with multiple pools, a small gym, bar, restaurant and terrace. It’s incredibly stylish interior. Our room was so good, with a very large bathroom, walk in wardrobe and sofa in the bedroom. The staff were so helpful, at meal time and with advice for activities to do. We are in the restaurant for dinner twice, and all the dishes were good, particularly the steak. Breakfast was also good, with a large buffet and an a la carte menu of cooked options. We also used the spa for a 90 min couples massage that was very very good.

I'm in my 60's, done a fair bit of travelling and stayed in some great hotels but the Plettenberg is easily my favourite. From the minute we arrived we were treated perfectly. Every member of staff we encountered were relentlessly friendly helpful but also unobtrusive. The rooms were lovely and no detail was missed and with a very generous well stocked fridge. The pools were great and of course have that spectacular view of the coastline below that you can enjoy from the most comfortable sunbeds imaginable. Breakfast was excellent and food in the restaurant was on point and not at all expensive. Again service was superb. We stayed two nights but all of us wished we had booked at least one more night. I hope that we will be back. We so enjoyed our trip to South Africa but staying here was a real highlight that we will forever remember and in itself a reason to return to this beautiful country. One hopefully constructive thought. The hill up to the town was quite steep. The car park is staffed by great people and it would be wonderful if they had golf carts or something to ferry guests up the hill. Even if only during the day. As I say just a thought.

Our stay at the Plettenburg hotel was absolute magic. Letitia from the front desk made our stay memorable with her sweet kindness. The view looking out to the sea from our room was majestic and without a doubt one of the best views you’ll see along the garden route. I’ll be back…
