호텔리토 델 마르 바이 익스피리언스 호텔스(Hotelito del Mar Playa del Carmen)

I guess this hotel has to be reviewed on the basis that it is a very cheap place in the middle of a very expensive town. The pros are that it is in an excellent location with large, comfortable beds, good air conditioning, a large fridge, microwave and electric hob and a lot of storage space and has friendly staff. The cons are that it is very basic in terms of facilities, the rooms are small, there is very little equipment in the kitchen and it needs a proper deep clean ( there were cobwebs, the bed head was very dusty and there was a lump of hair stuck on the back of the loo door which other reviewers have mentioned). The rooms also have very thin walls and the staff have very poor English. Also the breakfast was pretty dismal and when we had to leave early for a trip before the time when breakfast could be brought to the room, they were not willing to put it in the fridge for our return. In conclusion it was sufficient for our needs since we planned to be out for most days and it was near lots of restaurants and the beach so good value for money.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotelito del Mar for many reasons! The rooms are very spacious so instead of a room you get a small apartment with a lovely kitchen dining area and a nice bedroom with a comfy king bed. The apartment don’t have see view but there’s a lovely palm just outside. Air conditioning works well, good size wardrobe and good bathroom. Whatever you need extra you can just ask and the staff will give it to you. We stayed 10 days but we could easily stay longer as it was super comfy. Nice to come back to our nice little apartment every day and find it clean and tidied up by the maid. I travelled with my partner and little baby and we really needed to stay in a comfortable place and it was. The staff was super friendly and helpful and always super nice with our baby girl. Especial thanks to Gina, the receptionist, she has been super professional and at the same time kind, it felt to have someone to try on for everything for our all stay. The swimming pool also is very nice but unfortunately we didn’t use it as we were very busy doing trips and going to the beach . Playa it’s a great place for that and we made the most of it. If at any time of my life we will go back to Playa we will go back to the Hotelito. It’s in quieter area of Playa and it feels super safe. Thank you again! Martina, James and little India

Had a lovely stay at this hotel. The staff was friendly and my room was spacious. The area was walkable and safe. The only disappointment was that the pool wasn't open for the first 3 days of my trip.

I loved having a fridge and it was close to the main ***** of shops and beaches. The water pressure isn’t great in the shower but it’s not unusable. I’d stay here again!

First of all, do not understand from where are coming all those good reviews. The hotel definitely needs better maintenance, the furniture is dated, not clean, and the sofa needs profound cleaning. Hotel staff is not especially nice and welcoming. They barely respond hello to you. If you do not leave enough tips for the maid, you will not receive a proper cleaning of your room. Everything in the room is counted, starting from cutlery. Literally, if you are 2 people, you get two forks, etc. There is no bottle of water waiting for you in the room or any other courtesy. Towels - I have never experienced such low-cost, washed towels in the worst hotel I have visited in my life (after drying all the cotton stays on your skin). The main lady from reception is very gossip, so do not think is the good image for the place. Overall, we were not pleased with the stay, and we will not recommend or come back and to Playa del Carmen as this place became not friendly place for tourists.

To me, the location is great — away from from the noise of la Quinta, yet still very close on foot. The staff at the reception was very friendly and reactive, as was the rest of the staff and the cleaning services. A special thank you to Selene and Gio for their advice and kind words during my stay.

Would definitely recommend! Clean. Reasonable rates. Friendly and helpful staff. Great little roof top patio with pool and lounge area - watch the sunset! We were treated to one complementary room service breakfast. Location is great ＞ away from the hustle/bustle, but close enough to walk to lots of dining/5th Avenue, a large grocery store and banks. My only dislike was the firmness of the mattress - it was too hard for my comfort. Hope you get the chance to visit!
