Group trip- group of aging gracefully, female friends on a short break. Location - right in the thick of it in Las Americas opposite the Dubliner if you know the area. But amazingly much quieter when you’re inside the complex. Hotel - very much a family environment. I wouldn’t suggest it for groups or couples, although there were plenty there. The bungalows are nice and spacious and the bathrooms nice and modern. There appeared to be 2 sun loungers and umbrella on each patio area for those who didn’t want to venture far from room which is probably ideal if your children still need a lunchtime nap. The wristband doubling as your room key is inspired! The restaurant -never felt overcrowded and I must say top marks to the catering team as the food was very good , considering the A/I concept. Plenty of variety including a vegan section and the fresh cooked meat/ fish was constantly being refreshed to avoid cold/rock hard offerings. The sun lounger /pool situation - not enough area to go at. Beds are crammed together (due to lack of space) and there aren’t enough umbrellas to go round. As a group of 9 we did manage to get beds together without getting up ridiculously early but we couldn’t leave it too late either. There isn’t enough outside seating for the bar area as this doubled as outside seating for the restaurant as well. There is one bar and often only one hard working person covering it, so the queues could sometimes get a little long. That being said, you can help yourself to wine (very quaffable) , Amstel beer, soft drinks and water, between 11am-11pm. Staff - the vast majority of staff we encountered were all very accommodating and friendly. We found tipping good service was always appreciated just as we appreciated the good service! Gym - tiny , very little to use and only one person at a time so probably best to find yourself a local one for the week if this is important to you. Suggestions for improvement- the pool/ outside restaurant area toilets - need cleaning more frequently and the toilet seats need replacing for new. Due to marks and old age, they give the appearance of being unclean. Broken bin and soap dispenser didn’t help this image. This is a high traffic area that need frequent attention. Review the outside space area as whole. What can you afford to sacrifice to increase outside dining/socialising space for the majority. Consider increasing your bar staff to prevent long queuing at busy times. Consider a porter service - there are lots of multi level areas where bungalows are positioned and struggling with several cases or pushchairs/children/old people could be a challenge for those with mobility issues. All in all, a good value break and thank you to the staff working hard to ensure you enjoy your stay. But please consider the suggestions offered to enhance the environment for ALL guests, not just a few who use certain facilities just some of the time.
