Simple and comfortable for a one night stay. Close to the venue.

Hotel was centrally located and very convenient to PPG Paints Arena. Had to pay $35 to valet park due to my vehicle being over 6 feet tall. Lobby was very nice and inviting. Check in was easy and quick. Lobby restaurant/bar had good food and drinks before and after the game. One major issue was the water. I had no hot water for my morning shower. Called the front desk and was offered "engineering" to come up. By this time I had to leave town so another shower wasn't an option. Nice hotel, just wish I didn't have to take a cold shower.

The stay was fine. The convenience of the hotel to the PPG Arena was definitely appreciated. The pool was shut down for maintenance, when we even called two days before for the pool information. Mostly the basis of the pick of hotel. We did visit the North Coast restaurant and was pleased to see an organic selection. The wait staff was excellent and going the extra mile to assist the customers. I would say that was the highlight of our stay.

Location is amazing if you are going to an event at PPG arena. It was comfortable and clean. The young gentleman at the front desk who checked me in was so sweet!

We arrived to find only 1/3 elevators working. We were lined up out of the building into the parking garage waiting. When we checked in we were put in an accessible room which hadn’t been touched since the 70’s. Trying to get up to our room without a working elevator we were directed to a stairwell. We walked up 10 flights with our luggage before discovering that all the doors to exit the stairwell were locked. We returned to the lobby and waited in the extremely long line for the 1/3 working elevators. They were full from the parking garage by the time they reached the lobby. The bottom of the toilet was filthy and stained, the bathroom floor grout was filthy and black. The bathroom door was impossible to close and if you did close it you were never going to get it open. Not very accessible for an accessible room. I am also not sure why this room wasn’t set aside for someone who may have needed it. After seeing our room we returned to the lobby but the line up to check in was out the door, and we had tickets to the hockey game so had to either stand in line for roughly an hour and be late for the game or stay in the garbage room. I am sure it is more expensive to maintain and update accessible rims but if you are going to charge those staying there the same rate as the rest of the hotel they should be at the same level of cleanliness and updated. There was also no light in the room, the bathroom lights were dim. We had to call the front desk and ask for toilet paper…

We would have given 5 stars except for the fact that the guest elevators were not working. It was New Years Eve and we were on the 10th floor which was great for the view but did limit the number of times we left the room. Service elevator was working but the hotel was full so it was slow. Very convenient for PPG Arena! Easy parking.

We stayed at this Marriott on NYE after attending the Penguins game. We have stayed here before and it is the closest hotel to the venue. Our previous stays have all been fine. Not this time!! When we arrived almost 2 hours before the game we went through check-in and proceeded to the elevator area. There was a line roughly a mile long trying to get into the elevators. Out of 3 guest elevators only one was operational. People were stuffing themselves on the elevator and the elevator stopped at every single floor going up and coming down. We were on the 19th floor and will luggage the stairs weren’t an option. It took us an hour to go up to our room and drop off our bags and leave directly for the game. We had the same problem coming back down and we didn’t get to the game until puck drop. The hotel should have warned us at check-in or offered to check our bags knowing that the game was starting soon. Our second disappointment was that the hotel bar closed at 10 PM on NYE - we had to walk into downtown Pittsburgh in the rain to find a place to celebrate. Also what 300 a night hotel doesn’t have USB port to charge your cell phone - seriously???? Who carries a charging block anymore. And finally they stopped giving out individual soaps and shampoos and conditions to save money / the environment . . . Whatever! The shower gel and the shampoo where completely out! So much for packing light if you spend the night at this place - 1 out of 5 stars -do not recommend
