Friendly staff - well located

We had a lovely dinner & friendly conversation with one of the guys that run the place . Food was great . Love the star wars theme

Stopped one night Beat music plays till 12 we where unable to sleep and wouldn't recommend this as a place to stop if you like your sleep The room was clean though bins hadn't been emptied and best not to say what was in them We won't be going back and believe any posts about this accommodation should state about the music it's looking loud and the pub guests are louder

Great friendly hosts. Lovely, extremely clean bar, halls and room. Very comfortable beds and bedding. Water bottles in room were appreciated. Nice biscuits with tea and coffee. Great location in the centre of penrith, two minutes from the train station. We would definitely stay there again when visiting the area.

All pictures on *********** are photo shopped . First room we got given (room 5) was above the cellar and the floor was vibrating with the fans from cooler and the noise was just as bad from it . Old single pain glass windows and no heating. Moved to room two and was colder than outside, room was worn down and glass in bathroom was about to fall out and was like being in a freezer . Batteries dead for tv so unusable and wouldn't or couldn't change them when asked in the bar so I had to walk to the shops and buy some myself . Heating was eventually put on for us for a little over and hour and turned off again and was not put on again in the morning so was freezing again and wet towels because of it and too cold to use the falling apart shower . The place isn't worth £20 a night let alone the £90 they are charging. Avoid this dump at all costs .

This pub has been refurbished and cleaned out to loose its reputation it once had. It has introduced a pleasant atmosphere accompanied by great food of Jamaican origin. Shout out to the chef who is doing a fantastic job! A good mixed menu which will be improved upon and I recommend a visit if you are in town (both locals and travelling alike) Couldn’t recommend it more.
