Camping Le Domaine d'Inly

Nice enough site but could do with some improvements. The caravan didn’t have an oven, there were no parasols around the pool and my children’s rubber ring got caught on a piece of metal sticking out from the pool and burst. The festival was great fun and staff were friendly and helpful.

Booked through Eurocamp, arrived to fund the Comfort XL mobile home was dirty, toilet had urine stains, cutlery crockery and glasses greasy and wet. The shower filter was blocked with hair and had clearly never been cleaned. Spent much of the first day cleaning, I had my 3yr old and 17yr old with me as a single parent, not the way I wanted my holiday to start. We had three nights of interrupted sleep due to shouting and screaming. The site had been taken over by Homair prior to my arrival and clearly this merger has had a detrimental impact on the standards I've experienced in the past with Eurocamp. Equally the Eurocamp documents state that bbqs are not allowed on this site, ha! Pretty much every other holiday company on site allow it and it makes a total mockery of the rules . On return to the UK I made a complaint and was told that the response time was 28 days, basically don't expect the customer complaints team to get back to you in a timely fashion they are overwhelmed with complaints and have a very small team. I was offered £50 credit against my next Eurocamp holiday, suffice to say I won't be booking a holiday with them ever again. Still waiting for a further response from the complains team ... think it could be some time.

This site seemed a bit tired. New investment in cabins but no Internet as promised in our package. Lots of basic maintenance not being carried out. Kuds enjoyed the rapids. Very poor surveillance in pool areas. Nice cabin. Local beach was a 5 min drive. Barrier parking so roof top box should be removed. Pleasant beach.

Nice and clean accommodation. The water facilities are perfect, and we did only meet nice and welcoming staff at the campground.

From arrival to departure, the holiday could best be described as 'chaotic'. There was a queue when we arrived to check in and despite the fact that we had booked a camping pitch (for a caravan), they would not let us onto it when we arrived just over an hour early. Whilst we understood this, it is difficult to be on time when travelling from the UK, but would have been happy to wait, had we been able to park. We had nowhere to park so had to drive around the area for an hour and find a layby to pull in to. The pitch was extremely large, but not level, so it took a while to find a spot to settle. We were pleasantly surprised to have a fridge/freezer, but it was housed in a very dirty, run-down shed, but the fridge was clean enough. We were also provided with a table, chairs, parasol and bbq. The toilets were adequate, though not that clean and approx a third of the showers did not work. The shower area was large, though, with most of them containing a shelf to put your stuff. The washing up area was a disaster. The water wasn't hot and the layout of the sinks meant that you got soaked. The same was the case with the laundry area. It was not a very quiet site; I was often woken up during the early hours of the morning by people walking past and talking/shouting. On-site security was therefore limited. The worst thing was the fact that the water went off three times during our seven night stay with no warning. We were lucky, having a caravan and having already had our showers, but several people must have been affected by this, given that it went off in the evening when people were showering or washing up. The water tap on our pitch was located amongst overgrown shrubs, with no drain and next to the electricity point. It was hardly surprising, therefore, when the electricity on our pitch and the one next door (which shared water and electricity points) went off half way through the week. Fortunately, the staff were able to run an extension lead from the chalet opposite. The pool was ok, though I wasn't convinced it was all that clean: the black marks around the edge put me off a bit so I only went in once. The life guards were not the most observant and I wonder what would have happened if anyone got into difficulty in the water. The indoor water park was clearly an attraction for many, but not somewhere we wanted to stay in the high temperatures. The shop was unsatisfactory, running out of milk and no restocking the next day. The snack bar pizzas were lovely and we were lucky not to have to wait too long as we were the second in the queue when it opened. We didn't go to the restaurant or the evening entertainment. The pool dancing in the daytime was led by three people, one of whom had some enthusiasm, but the other two clearly had other priorities, such as flirting with each other or messing about. Nous avions pris un mobilhome Duo. Il est regrettable qu'aucun tapis de bain ne soit prévu dans les salles de bain. Malgré cela, le mobilhome était très propre (nous avons d'ailleurs félicité l'agent d'entretien très aimable (Françoise) lorsque nous lui avons remis les clés. Le dôme est très bruyant et beaucoup trop chaud. L'air y est difficilement respirable. Ce camping vieillit très mal et reste malgré tout beaucoup trop cher !
