라키펠(L'Archipel)

Hamid gave me a warm welcome to an exquisite oasis tucked off a typical Gili Air 'dusty lane' only 12 minutes walk from the harbour. Archipel is a discrete wonder of colour, comfort, mature greenery and with an elegant pool. The rooms are natural, comfortable, modern and inviting. Each has a beautiful recessed terrace, to which breakfast is delivered. Charming and enchanting in all ways.

Meh. I booked 2 nights there for a quick trip around the Gilis, but Would not recommend this place, bad client service, you’ll find better ones around… first hotel of the region I found not helpful at all.

The hotel itself is very nice for its price range. It’s clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. The rooms are not big, but it was nice to have an outdoor seating area and felt very private. The pool also looked beautiful, although we did not use it. The staff was very nice and helpful, and the breakfasts were decent. The issue is that this hotel is very close to the central mosque on Gili Air, so you can hear the call to prayer very very loudly. Unlike in the Middle East where you only hear it for 5-10 minutes, each call to prayer + subsequent prayer service lasted at least 60-90 minutes, while on Friday it went on all night long (6pm-5am). We are told this is because it was Ramadan, but if you read other reviews of Gili Air generally, you will see similar complaints about the mosque all year round. It’s very unfortunate because the hotel itself is lovely; however we cut our trip short and left Gili Air after two days because we were unable to get any sleep. We did also walk all around the island to see if there was a place where we couldn’t hear the mosque, but it was clearly audible everywhere. It was a relief to get back to Bali and have a full night’s rest.

The bathroom had a hole in the roof so when it rains and you also want to take a shower it is not practical. Also when taking a shower there is water on the floor. No proper drainage facility. Poor toilet equipment so we had blockages. Every morning breakfast order was messed up. Management need to address the breakfast situation and also invest in better bathroom and toilet facilities. Not value for money.

Super relaxing and beautiful. The staff were absolutely lovely, I would come back in a heart beat. The rooms were well equipped and clean. The location was great perfect. Breakfast on our patio every morning was a highlight. Really hope to come back soon!

This was a beautiful place to relax and not far from the beach. Staff were always helpful The pool area was gorgeous. There was a good choice for breakfast. They also could order in if you didn't feel like venturing out for a meal. My only negative was no fridge in our room.

Staff were responsive. Bed was comfy.

Underbart hotell! Härlig och hjälpsam personal, jättefint poolområde och mysiga rum. Det enda minuset är att moskén ligger väldigt nära och är ganska högljudd redan kl 04.30 på morgonen. Men det finns öronproppar i receptionen 😊

Die kleine Anlage an sich sieht optisch schon mal sehr gut aus. Von den Zimmern hatte ich mir allerdings mehr versprochen, die Bilder sahen gut aus und der Preis ist eher gehoben. Leider entspricht das aber nicht der Realität. Die Zimmer sind sehr klein und die Ausstattung sehr einfach. Kleines, z.T. offenes Bad mit Dusche, Waschbecken und WC. Alle Türen sind verzogen und quietschen. Es gibt breite Ritzen, eine Einladung für jegliches Getier. Das Frühstück lässt ebenfalls zu wünschen übrig. Ich habe keine großen Ansprüche, aber wässriger Saft, pappiger, kalter Toast usw gehen garnicht. Der Kaffee..., bestellt man Tee, gibt es eine Tasse mit Teebeutel. Wer Komfort sucht ist hier leider falsch.
