Grantley Hall is something special. Opulent without being stuffy, exclusive yet homely. The staff are great and the attention to detail is second to none. We spent 2 nights in a superior room - which was a great size and as you’d expect, well appointed. The Spa is relaxing, clean and the massages are excellent. We had an 11 course Sean Rankin dinner on the first night, which is very pricey but memorable. Eightyeight offered great food for our 2nd night. The only slight negative was our room air con which kept resetting to 20C everytime we left - resulting in returning to a cold room. We reported it to Front Desk 3 times but (unusually as all other attention to detail was perfect) never actually had anyone get back to us or received a resolution. This was a small slight on an otherwise amazing experience and we will most certainly be back!

Our first visit to Grantley after many years visiting other hotels in the area. Grantley beats them all, from a warm welcome at the drive way entrance, to numerous offers to park our car, lovely greeting in reception and best of all the quality of the food at the afternoon tea. delicious savouries and delightful cakes. My wife and I could be considered experts in the art of afternoon tea, because we've had so many, but no come close to our tea this afternoon. Attentive service by a very pleasant and professional maitre d'. Will certainly return but will make sure we stay next time. Thanks to all involved in making our afternoon so special

After a number of visits to Grantley Hall to eat in the orchard restaurant over the years. For my wife’s 40th birthday we decided to step it up and visit for a special meal in Fletchers restaurant (British seasonal cuisine). Well, we could not praise the staff more! From the front gate to our table, all of the staff we interacted with were very professional, attentive and well trained. Offering that perfect balance of “professionalism” and “personal touch”. After booking online and under occasion we wrote “40th birthday” it seemed that everyone knew, even a hand written birthday card on the table. We ate from the seasonal 4 corse set menu with paired wine flight recommendations from the sommelier. Everything was perfectly cooked, plated and delivered. So much so we couldn’t help but ask our server to pass on our complements for every corse. A visit to Grantley Hall is highly recommended!

Perfect for the sort of people who love to tell everybody that "they've been to Grantley Hall". Or if you like your morsels served by a waitess wearing white gloves? Or piped music in the car park? Or Rolls Royces parked ostentatioously near the entrance? Suspect the owner sent someone out with a couple of mill to "Fake Oil Paintings 4U" to plaster the walls in the entrance area. Pretentious and overpriced? Just bit. Heaven for Premiership footballers with more money (and tattoos) than sense.

The ultimate 5 star experience. Our whole stay was faultless. We’ve never expressed service like it- it was unbelievably attentive without being intrusive and without a hint of snootiness. Just friendly and thoughtful service. The room was stunning with lovely touches like complimentary damson gin and shortbread. Spa was the best we’ve been to and the Shaun Rankin was gourmet but incredibly tasty and filling . The knowledge and attitude of staff there was particularly impressive- we learnt a lot and spent a long time chatting to them. We’ve been to similar places but this felt head and shoulders above the rest. A flawless experience.

This is our 2nd time staying at Grantley Hall and whilst is certainly a luxury hotel we felt slightly disappointed by a few things this time. We were given a room in the eaves in the main house, the room was extremely warm despite the temperature turned down and the windows open. We had complimentary gin but no chocolates or champagne - not a problem at all but when we have had this previously and read other reviews saying this we couldn’t help but be slightly disappointed! Also despite the pre arrival phone call details, the name on the arrival card was wrong. We were woken very early by a loud conversation outside our room, unsure if guests or staff. Having said this the beds in the rooms are huge and very comfy and the bathrooms are lovely and spacious. The spa and gym facilities are amazing and is certainly the best spa have been too. We dined in the Orchard and unfortunately were extremely underwhelmed. We’ve eaten in 2 of the other restaurants at Grantley but the Orchard is not on par with these. The food was bland and disappointing. Breakfast in Fletchers was delicious and even better than we had remembered. It’s only small things that have left us a little disappointed, but as our first stay was outstanding we just felt this return trip did not quite match our previous experience.

Everything was perfect from our arrival to departure. Staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. Our room was beautiful with lots of lovely touches including complimentary gin, champagne and chocolates to celebrate my birthday. The spa and gym facilities were great, and as we arrived early we took advantage of having access from 1pm. We ate in the Shaun Rankin restaurant- a fantastic experience in every way! Breakfast in Fletchers was very tasty too. The whole trip was wonderful and we would love to return.

Breathtakingly beautiful place.... The owner/manager must really be perfectionists because this place is faultless....The rooms are just amazing, the grounds and setting fabulous, the pool/spa area was so relaxing and the food is perfection..... This place is just perfect.... we ate in the main restaurant and the tent/teepee outside during our stay and both were equally amazing...
