샌들우드 호텔 & 리트리트(Sandalwood Hotel & Suites)

I was pleasantly surprised by how beautiful and underrated this property is. It’s in the primest of locations next to the Taj, the university and the residences of who’s who of Goa. The staff upgraded me to a suite room quickly and gave me this massive house of a room! It was a spacious, well ventilated room with three balconies! Couldn’t have asked for a better more comfortable stay on my last day in Goa. Location is one minute from the nearest beach, with trees all around the property giving you a local Goa feel than being all shiny and synthetic. Food and service are both A grade. Highly recommend.

This hotel is overpriced given its very mediocre facilities. Major drawback: the only option to move around was to use the only taxi driver made available by the hotel, who was charging 2 to 3 times the normal rate and proved unreliable. Foreign tourists should avoid this hotel.

The location of the hotel was also convenient, with easy access to nearby attractions and transportation. Overall, I would highly recommend Hotel XYZ to anyone looking for a memorable and enjoyable stay. I can't wait to return on my next visit to this city!

It is a place with great location and beach, l stayed in sandalwood hote and retreat for 2 nights and 3 day's very helpful and always smiling staff. Room are very nice. Thanks sandalwood for making my trip more beautiful than expected.

The room was large and had more space than expected. It was clean also. However, there was a kitchen with no cutlery or plates. The restaurant was okay but empty throughout. The bar wasn't open. There were no sunbeds around the pool. There were advertised sunbeds on the beach but these didnt exist. The nearby beach is essentially a private beach for the guests in the neighbouring 5 star hotels. This means you cant use any pf the facilities on the beach (cafe, bar, sunlounger) unless you are a guest from one of those hotels. There are security guards who escort you off the property even when enquiring if the restaurant/bars are open to non-guests. The nearest shops and restaurants are 30 minute walk up out of the valley and into Dona Paula so it is not ideal unless you have your own transport. The reception staff, when asked if they could book us a taxi, simply gave us the mobile number for a taxi company and refused to assist in arranging. The same goes for laundry. We enquired about the laundry, were given a mobile number of someone who no longer works in laundry and when we explained this was now the case they shrugged their shoulders as if that was the solution. Overall not a great hotel. It is not 4 star, probably 3 at best.

It was a good place but the place wasnt in actual Panji. The hotel is split by 2 brother's and the pool belongs to the other half. The actual hotel room was large.

I stayed for 2D/3N at Sandalwood Hotel located in the Vainguinim Valley near Panaji in November during IFFI Goa 2022. It was my fourth repeat visit to Sandalwood, but the Hotel is not the same, particularly after the property got split during Covid crisis. I was first allotted a room, where neither the AC nor the TV was functional. In the next room, the Tata Sky connection had been deactivated. Though the rooms are spacious and fine, the furniture and fixtures have become dated. No toiletries were placed, there was a tea kit, but no stirrer. The shock came when a dental kit was supplied on de***d, and I found that the toothpaste was already half used. Breakfast options were terribly limited. The list can go on. But I am done with this Hotel forever now.

We have stayed this property after our 3 days stay at south goa. Earlier day, it may be a good hotel, but now divided in to two properties, Sandalwood and Green Valley. No direct access to beach. Unmaintained Swimming pool. Restaurant is open only for breakfast. Bar is also closed. Not even provided soap, shampoo etc. Big room with mosquitoes.It's located in downside area, so walking from hotel to market is difficult and will.not get any conveyance. There is no staff, who are available are untrained people. In short non hygienic hotel.
