We had stayed at Jonah's nearly ten years ago, and enjoyed our stay but found it a little old fashioned & 'clubbie'. So were we a little non plussed when we received a Xmas gift voucher from our children for Jonah's. Our stay on Australia Day exceeded our expectations & we had a thoroughly enjoyable 20 hours. Jonah's had their annual party on when we arrived, which we had been forewarned so we couldn't slip out on the terrace to drink our 'complimentary' Bollinger but saved it for our dinner reservation. Managed to see a few celebrities to add a little excitement. We had a room in the seperate house which was away from the party & overlooked the pool to Whale Beach. I think it was cleanest motel room I have ever stayed in. It was immaculate & full credit to housekeeping staff. Dinner was exceptional beginning [as mentioned] with the Bollinger & 'complementary' tasting plate. The rest of the three course meal [with 'complimentary' bread] was the same very high standard, & more importantly simply delicious. And once again, enjoying breakfast from the front window, the food was exquisite. And to continue the excellence of our stay, all staff were professional, polite, friendly & engaging. From Yvette who welcomed us & then farewelled us, to the dining/wait staff. And whoever is recruiting is on a winning formula. Staff can really impact an experience, but Jonah's staff only enhanced our stay. At dinner, bed & breakfast rate of $1300+ for one night, it is not cheap. And I was a little sceptical on the 'complimentary' bits & bobs - I have paid for them all!! Jonah's is a special occasion place [well it is for us from the country] but we are determined to save our pennies & stay again...sooner rather than later. Thoroughly recommend.
