로센호프 컨트리 하우스

Situated on the main rood to the Cango Caves, this small boutique hotel is a quiet sanctuary, behind electronic gates. The rooms are situated around a lawn complete with fountain, and are true of a country house with chintzy furnishings and dark wood furniture. Fresh flowers from the garden made a very nice homely feel. The bathroom was ok, a small shower cubicle and a very noisy fan. The lighting was not that good either especially over the sink, with the lighting being over the bath. Every room had it's own veranda with table and chairs. The staff were very nice especially the chamber maid, whose name sadly I cannot remember. The restaurant was nice and a table d'hote was offered with either 2 or 3 courses, serving local Karoo style food. We found it to be a little stuffy, but that was just us. Everything was freshly cooked. A separate breakfast room with both indoor and outside seating - limited choices but nice. If we should return to Oudtshorn we would consider staying here again.

The hotel has a good layout with separate buildings, chalets, with each room per building or 2 per building. Rooms and bathrooms needed some updating, for the price they should be spot on. Service at meals was excellent we has dinner both nights and they were very good. not much advice offered or obtained re local attractions. Secure and plenty of parking.

This is a beautiful hotel. We arrived to a warm welcome and offered an ice cold glass of wine over check in. Then shown to our spacious rooms which are bungalow style around a pretty garden courtyard. The rooms are very grand, highest quality fixtures with fresh flowers adding an extra touch of luxury. A quick dip in the pool before making our way to the elegant bar for drinks before dinner. Service excellent. Dinner was something else, service again was of the highest quality...but not stand-offish...charming and friendly and warm. The menu was just what you would expect, I chose Roasted Beetroot to start, and a filet steak cooked to perfection served with a selection of vegetables. All in all this has been an excellent stay, the staff couldn't be more attentive, the accommodation couldn't be better for the location and the price. I would highly recommend if visiting this area of the Eastern Cape

From the "welcome" over the "accommodation" and "dinner" up to "farewell" - all was perfect. We enjoyed our stay at Rosenhof very much.

Beautiful gardens, stunning bedroom and bathroom. Main building has beautiful rooms which introduced us to Ardmore porcelain which we now love. The staff attention to detail was superb and the food was absolutely delicious. Serene pool too. And had a gorgeous back massage. Not far from local attractions.

A beautiful hotel on the outskirts of Oudtshoorn. We had the Bird House all to our selves. My bedroom had its own study and was a generous size. The balcony overlooked the pool. Decorated in keeping with the historic villa style, it is beautifully presented in every aspect. Including a substantial library of books throughout the house and 2 separate sitting rooms. The restaurant was exceptional as well, every mouthful delicious. The ravioli was to die for. Simply amazing. Every morning, our car was washed and cleaned while we enjoyed breakfast. A thoughtful addition to our stay. The staff were lovely, low profile, but there if you needed anything. This was a dream of a place to stay, and I highly recommend you treat yourself to the Rosenhof's warm and serene embrace.
